The space For a stay in a Mexican village on the largest lake in Mexico (Lake Chapala) with a lot of art, boutiques and good restaurants, the town of Ajijic is a delight. Our listing is a separate casita at the back of our property with separate entrance from the street. The bedroom has a queen bed and day bed with lots of closet space. The living room has a queen sleeper sofa and wood-burning fireplace. It was renovated in 2010 and has a charming Mexican feel to it. The kitchen is well-equipped. The bathroom has a tub/shower combination. There is use of the swimming pool (between the main house and the casita). Please be aware that we might have other guests renting our guest room who will also use the pool area and laundry. In the pool area there is a table, chairs and an umbrella on each side of the pool for separation. The laundry is accessible from the alley (1-2 loads per week for personal items; 1-2 loads for bed/bath linens per week if staying longer than a week). A bus passes our front door quite frequently, but it is only a 10-15 minute walk to the main plaza in town and a 5 minute walk to the malecon along the lake. We are a 40 minute taxi ride from the Guadalajara airport. Guest access Included in the rent is Shaw cable TV, dedicated telephone (for local calls), wifi internet, utilities and cleaning 3 hours/week. Other things to note We are not a hotel. We do not charge hotel rates. We try to offer a clean, welcoming facility with numerous amenities included in the rent. Once in a while, things break down. We will do our best to get such problems fixed as fast as possible. When you are visiting Mexico, please bring an adaptable approach to life here. This is a Mexican village. You may hear roosters and barking dogs. That is part of our village life. Please do not have music playing when by the pool. This is requested for the comfort of all, including other guests and the owners who live on site.
