A cozy retreat with easy access to the best of what the Hudson Valley has to offer! The space A ranch-style 1500 sq ft cabin with a vaulted-ceiling living room centered around a wood burning stove. Lovely afternoon light spills in through the skylights. Cozy lofted office situated above the living room. A spacious bathroom, complete with shower and bathtub. Fully equipped kitchen makes cooking simple. Or take your meals outside to the extra large gas grill and deck dining area surrounded by beautiful forest views and rich sunsets. Bedrooms are on opposite ends of the house for nice nighttime privacy. Setback from a quiet country road (don't be surprised if you see a tractor drive by!) You'll see the birds, the bees, and all sorts of wildlife during the daytime. At night you'll hear the frogs, owls, and the wind in the trees. The ideal place to relax, unplug, and write or read for hours on end! Only one respectful neighbor, who is very rarely there. The property is separated by a large yard and a high fence. Don't worry - you'll feel secluded and comfortable enough to sing badly at the top of your lungs or walk around naked! Situated between Hudson and the Berkshires (about 20-25 minutes to either). Closest to the charming small towns of Ghent and Chatham. Very short driving distance to great restaurants, hiking, swimming holes, and local farm stores. Easy access to the Taconic Parkway and a direct, simple 2-2.5 hr drive down to NYC/BK. Guest access You'll have the cabin all to yourself! Easy access driveway with plenty of parking. Other things to note INTERNET - We unfortunately only have access to satellite internet. It can lag a bit during peak evening hours or during stormy weather. The good news is there's excellent cell service! I mainly hotspot if I want to stream in the evenings, which works perfectly well! Live TV and lots of DVDs to keep you company as well. SPRING & SUMMER GARDENING - If you book a stay for longer than two nights, we'll have to make an arrangement for me to stop by and water the garden beds once every two days. I'll do my best to respect your privacy and be flexible with your schedule. There is the potential that on weekday bookings the landscaper might stop by to mow the lawn, which normally takes 30 minutes with no need for interaction.
