Carter's Upper Duck

Are you looking to decompress, unwind and unplug? Then our family cabin is the right place for you. Surrounded by 25 acres of forest, it overlooks a quiet small lake. Wildlife runs free. Light pollution is low for excellent stargazing. Our few neighbors are hard to spot. Time slows down when you are here - hang out on the deck, walk the forest, swim in the lake, sit by the fire, cozy up with homemade dinner and enjoy a board game. You and your entire family can relax at this peaceful place. The space This simple cabin was built more than 40 years ago. The chalet style house has two floors and a large deck overlooking the lake. On the ground floor, there are the living room and kitchen, one bedroom (double bed + bunks), the full bath, laundry room, and access to the deck. Upstairs is the second bedroom (queen + bunks) and a half bath. The cabin is on 25 acres of land, most of it is forest that we leave as is. There is plenty of opportunity to put up hammocks or a slackline. We have an outdoor play structure and a bonfire pit that you are welcome to use. There are lots of dirt roads and state land with trails to go running, biking, motorbiking or four-wheeling. Our cabin overlooks Duck Lake and is close to Little Bear Lake. Other lakes (Big Bear Lake, Otsego Lake, etc.) are nearby. You can bring your kayaks, canoes or other boats to enjoy them. Please note that Duck Lake does not allow boats with a gasoline engine. All towels for bathing and beach supplies. Kitchen has necessary cookware, microwave, dishes, glassware. Guest access You have full access to the property, the lake and the majority of the cabin. An additional bedroom upstairs (used for storage and utility) and the fireplace in the living room are locked and not accessible to guests. There is a pole barn on the property that is also not accessible to guests. Other things to note This is a remote cabin in the woods. There is no wifi. Cell reception can be poor depending on your provider. Enjoy the silence. :)
