Description
Clean rustic-modern lines, outdoor/ indoor living in an amazing setting perched over the jungle and Dominicalito surfing. Great for independent and adventurous people who want a very private secluded abode, beautiful views and wildlife, yet have the beach 8 minutes away in a car and fun town of Dominical 4 min farther north. The openness of the living area allows for an open breeze with glassed-in protection as an option for the sleeping quarters. 100 MB internet. The space 2-bedroom private house on 15 acres with incredible views of sunset, Dominicalito Beach down the hill and Manuel Antonio in the distance. Bedrooms and bathrooms have full walls, windows with glass or screens. Living/dining space is open-living , having low walls with open space above them and open space as doorways, easily leading to surrounding flat lawns, mature garden, fruit trees on immediate premises and magestic views from all sides. Wildlife viewing abounds. This 1700 sq. ft. home is perched above the jungle at the top of 2 slopes. The sides are protected with hedging plants. The side behind the house has an old growth forested cliff, which can often create an incredible breeze throughout the house and lowers the temperature in the house. We are located at the top of the foothills, thus you can expect an 8 minute adventurous climb up from Dominicalito Beach, on a gravel road. 4wd drive is the the norm. Dominicalito Beach has a calmer vibe with fishing and beginner surf being the focus, and a local waterfall to swim in incredibly close by. Dominical beach and town is 5 minutes further north once you descend the 8 minute hill and is a bustling surf town with world class surf, restaurants, stores, tourist info, spa services, a organic market, farmer's market, etc. South by 15 minutes is Uvita with lots of banks, restaurants, 2 large grocery stores, mechanics, medical daytime clinics, pharmacies, and the gas station. 10 minutes south of Uvita is Ojochal, which has many Europeans and great restaurants. 45 minutes north of our house is bustling Quepos and Manuel Antonio National Park and another hospital. On top of our smaller local waterfall, there are 2 epic waterfalls for day trips. There are two bedrooms that are glassed in. The upstairs bedroom is a very large room with a full bath suite that includes a walk in shower with an amazing view. There is a custom built queen bed with 2 extra single mattresses to put on the floor in case you need them. You can sleep up to 4 people in this bedroom. Outside the upstairs bedroom is a huge veranda-yoga platform overlooking the jungle canopy and ocean. It is a great spot to see monkeys and toucans at dawn and dusk. This upstairs bedroom catches the mountain cross current breezes perfectly at night and has plenty of fans to supplement. We often need a blanket at night . The downstairs bedroom has a sliding glass door for easy access to the garden, an option of a/c or ceiling fan, and a 1/2 bath indoors. There is a rustic outdoor cold shower overlooking the jungle valley and Manuel Antonio close by. Open air living / dining / kitchen space with custom modern furniture made by the owner. Lock-down bodega has pull down metal garage door in the kitchen allowing for security in the open downstairs living area. You would close this when leaving valuables or at night. Covered laundry room with a washing machine in outdoor laundry space and lots of lines for drying . Pls keep in mind fiberoptic it is not 100% perfect due to Costa Rica conditions. One can use social media and stream movies and music, but the storms and falling trees can occasionally make the internet temporarily spotty. Guest access The entire house minus one closet is accessible. Other things to note You are in the jungle and in an open house. Sometimes there will be very few insects, sometimes there will be more. They can fly in and out of the house. Sometimes the jungle is quiet and sometimes it is loud. The dry season January - March brings on cicada sounds that can be loud and at times the cicadas fly in, especially in Feb. They are harmless and cool. Animals tend to stay out of our main open living area. Every day we see toucans and parrots, occasionally the monkeys, and sometimes really interesting animals. Geckos and occasionally a toad or bat might visit in the house. We much prefer to have our caretaker Marvin welcome you into the house and we like to suggest an arrival between 2:45 PM and before sunset if possible. There are no official addresses in Costa Rica, so arriving before dark is better to find the house for the first time. Once you book I can send you directions for your phone app so it easiest if you have data service in the country. Also, we like to get our caretaker home safely on his ATV before dark, so we will have default to leaving the keys for you upon late arrival. We pay for high speed fiber optic but Costa Rica has been power outages and we can not promise 100% service
