Designed for families and groups seeking a slower pace of life, the property offers the perfect balance of privacy, comfort, and authentic Kumaoni hospitality. The home features **four thoughtfully designed guest rooms**, with **two rooms on the ground floor and two on the first floor**, comfortably accommodating up to eight guests. Filled with natural light and overlooking the surrounding mountains and greenery, each room is designed to help you unwind and reconnect with nature. The entire property is yours to experience together. Relax in the cozy living room, unwind in the sun-filled glasshouse, curl up with a book in the study, or gather around the fireplace on cooler evenings. The expansive lawns provide plenty of space for outdoor dining, bonfires, yoga, or simply enjoying the fresh mountain air, while the terraces offer beautiful views of the surrounding hills. At the heart of Chitai Life is **Baakhai Table**, our signature dining experience inspired by the traditional Kumaoni concept of a *Baakhai*—where neighbours gathered to share stories and meals. Our in-house chefs prepare fresh, farm-to-folk cuisine using local ingredients, seasonal produce, forest herbs, and recipes passed down through generations. To make your stay even more memorable, we offer a range of curated experiences including **Baakhai Terrace Lunches, Evening Tea Rituals, Fireside Dinners, Starlit Candlelight Dining, Mountain Grill Evenings, Maggi Making in the Woods, Guided Forest Bathing Walks, Stargazing Nights, Kumaoni Music Evenings**, and visits to a nearby organic factory. Most experiences can be arranged on prior request. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion, planning a family holiday, hosting a friends' getaway, or simply looking to disconnect from everyday life, Chitai Life offers a warm mountain home where every meal, every conversation, and every sunrise becomes part of your story. Guest access You’ll have complete access to your private rooms and terrace, along with the shared spaces across Chitai Life. These include the living and dining areas, lounge, study, glasshouse, and expansive lawns. Spend slow mornings soaking in the mountain views, find a quiet corner in the glasshouse for reading or simply unwinding, gather around the fireplace on cooler evenings, or relax outdoors amidst the gardens and open skies. You can enjoy freshly prepared meals at Baakhai Table, our in-house dining experience celebrating the flavours and culinary traditions of Kumaon. With prior notice, meals can also be served in designated outdoor areas of the property. A range of curated dining and local experiences can be arranged during your stay, including terrace lunches, evening tea rituals, fireside dinners, candlelit dining, mountain grill evenings, guided forest walks, stargazing, Kumaoni music nights, and more. Our team is present at the property to assist you throughout your stay while giving you the privacy and freedom to experience Chitai Life at your own pace. Please note that the kitchen is operated exclusively by our in-house chefs and is not accessible to guests. Certain staff and operational areas are also reserved for our team. Other things to note Chitai Life is designed as a peaceful mountain retreat, and we request guests to respect the calm of the property and its natural surroundings. Check-in is from 2:00 PM onwards, and check-out is by 11:00 AM. Quiet hours are observed between 10:00 PM and 8:00 AM, particularly in shared spaces. Our in-house kitchen is managed exclusively by our chefs, and freshly prepared meals can be pre-ordered during your stay. Guest access to the kitchen and outside food deliveries are not permitted. Meals are served in the dining room or, with prior notice, in designated outdoor areas of the property. In-room dining is not available. Smoking is permitted only in designated outdoor areas and is strictly prohibited indoors. As water is precious in the mountains, we encourage mindful consumption and request guests to switch off lights, heaters, geysers, and other appliances when not in use. Chitai Life is pet-friendly and welcomes up to two small or medium-sized, well-behaved and house-trained pets with prior notice. Guests are requested to bring their pet’s bedding and bowls, keep pets off furniture and beds, and clean up after them. Pets that may be aggressive towards other guests or animals should remain leashed in common and outdoor areas. Any damages caused by pets will be chargeable. Only registered guests are permitted on the property. As Chitai Life is a shared mountain home, we request everyone to enjoy the common spaces respectfully and leave them as they found them. Most curated experiences and special dining arrangements require prior booking, are subject to availability, and may be available at an additional charge.
