Description
The Barren Guest Suite is situated in Girdwood Valley and offers glacier and mountain views. This unit is located in a quiet, centrally positioned neighborhood with access to restaurants, the Alyeska Resort, skiing, hiking, and biking. This one-bedroom, mother-in-law-type suite is ideal for couples. The space This one-bedroom mother-in-law apartment features its own private entry accessed from the side of the house, ensuring it is not a shared space. Once inside, you will directly enter the living room area, which includes a sofa pullout and a TV with free Wi-Fi. As you walk in a bit farther, you will discover a dining table and a stackable washer and dryer in the closet. The kitchen, located just to the side, is stocked with essential items: a full-sized refrigerator, microwave, and oven range. Complimentary coffee is provided in the cabinet labeled "Coffee/Tea." A full bathroom is adjacent to the kitchen and includes extra towels and amenities (dryer, etc.). There is one bedroom with a queen-sized bed off the living room. It features a window and a full-sized closet filled with extra pillows and linens. The unit has a cozy radiator heating system throughout, and there is a fan available in the bedroom if needed. The host family resides full-time above the suite. A locked door connects the washer/dryer and bathroom doors to the main house. You may hear some noise from the family during your stay (utilities, garage door operation, etc.) since this is our family's full-time residence. We do our best to be respectful and keep excess noise to a minimum during your stay. Guest access This is an efficient one-bedroom unit on the ground floor within a family home. The host family lives directly above the unit. This is not a shared space, but there are shared walls with the family garage and laundry room. The surrounding houses visible from the unit’s windows contribute to a cozy community feeling. As you drive up to the house, you will see our “Welcome Guest Parking” sign posted on the right side so you will know where to pull up. Guests will have this designated parking spot for one or two cars parked one in front of the other along the right side of the driveway. The walkway to the unit's entrance is along the right-hand side of the house, where the parking sign is located. It is a paved walkway under the wrap-around deck alongside the house. The door is about 50 ft up the walkway and has a keyless pin pad entry. This walkway can feel like your own personal snow tunnel during the winter, but in the spring, summer, and fall, you will look to the right and see our expansive yard. You will be provided your entry code the morning of your arrival (or before upon request). Please be mindful of the shedding snow from the roof during the winter months, as well as the occasional moose and other wildlife. Other things to note All surfaces of the unit are cleaned and sanitized between guest arrivals. Guests also have access to cleaning supplies in the unit. We love animals but cannot accommodate dogs, cats, or other critters due to allergies and asthma. Please do not place any food or coolers outside the unit. Bears are occasionally in the area, so we need to keep those items inside the unit or in your car.
