The mason was paid “a young steer and 2 dollars a day” to lay the thick stone walls, and the cottage has retained its sense of history and permanence. Yet it has been recently restored, and enjoys all the modern conveniences that we expect today. With the original wood plank floors and 2-foot thick stone walls, you will be charmed by the history in the cozy living room. It is like stepping back in time, and will make for a memorable stay in one of the loveliest towns in the country.
