Description

NEW!!! Happy to announce that from the 29nth January 2023 on, you get the best INTERNET in the market. Starlink is on (Satelital Internet). Bedroom and living room full of light, balcony looking down north of the city. A beautiful building from the 50s, safe and friendly in the middle of the most characteristic neighborhood of Santiago. The space If you want to be in the real heart of our city, come and live in this beautiful & sunny apartment near the centre of everything. The bedroom, with a double bed, also has doors to a long, narrow balcony. There is also a lovely living room, with doors to the balcony, a full bathroom off the bedroom, and a very little kitchen where you can cook if you want a night in. The view from the little balcony is great as you will be on the 8th floor (there´s an elevator!) - you can see the Mapocho River, the former train Station (now a great cultural center) and watch life happen in Chile´s capital. Light and life comes through the windows, but if you want to be in silence and peace, just close the balcony doors, pull the shutters and you'll be alone with your soul. Wifi you ave in the apartment. The building, from 1950, is well kept and has 24 hours desk attendance. You will be 5 blocks from Plaza de Armas, 100 meters from Central Market (good for eating fresh local seafood for lunch, or buying fresh fruit and vegetables) and just 20 meters from the Metro station Cal y Canto. I lived in this building for 10 years and really enjoyed the area. You can also walk along the riverside to the popular Parque Forestal, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo (Contemporary Art Museum) and the beautiful Lastarria quarter (cafes and quiet streets). Or cross the bridge and come to La Vega (the biggest market of vegetables), Patronato quarter (lots of cheap clothes), and Bellavista (thousends of bars and restaurants). Just around the corner from the apartment you have LA PIOJERA, a traditional bar, where you can take a "Terremoto" (young wine with Pineapple icecream). But watch out - they are super strong, unless you wash them down with a strong fish or shell soup, made fresh for you at the Central Market next door. I have added this apartment to AirBNB not long ago, so if you´d like to see more reviews about your host, or stay in shared accomodation instead of your own place, please see my other listings to the right.
