The building and the neighborhood are safe, and in a part of down that does not flood during heavy rains. Near Avenidas Corrientes, Callao, and Rivadavia, the historic Avenida de Mayo with its emblematic Palacio Barolo, traitional cafes Cafe de los Angelitos and Cafe Tortoni, the open air restaurant/theater/bar/concert venue Paseo La Plaza, the magnificent opera Teatro Colón, and many other tourist attractions. Due to its central location you can do most visits and shopping by foot. Excellent access to public transport with two underground stations (subway lines A and B), many bus lines and taxis nearby. In the neighborhood you find bakeries, fruit and vegetable shops, butchers, fishmongers, banks, and laundries. A large supermarket is right around the corner. In addition, plenty of cafes, small restaurants where locals go (from succulent steaks to tasty vegetarian and vegan places), theatres, cinemas, bookshops, music stores and lots of tango (good tango schools, practicas, milongas, and some of the best tango shoe stores).
