2 bedrooms perfectly located near BART & Berkeley

Sizable group? Family? There are 2 adjoining bedrooms in a worn but lovely craftsman home, with a fireplace and a large backyard deck, and within a couple blocks of a butcher, bakery (alas, no candlestick maker), ice cream shop, bar, supermarket, cafes, restaurants and boutiques. It's a 10 minute walk to BART, which takes 20 minutes into SF. UC Berkeley is a 30 minute walk and less than a 10 minute drive away. I enjoy hosting and am eager to help. The space There are nice features, befitting a Craftsman. There's a sizable and sunny back deck with a charcoal grill, a working fireplace, in-laid cabinets and a breakfast nook. It's a fairly large but older home, so it's not well insulated and there's no working furnace or air conditioning, so house temperatures can vary. Space heaters are provided for the bedroom and common areas. Large 2nd floor room (18'x13', 5.5m x 4m) contains a queen-sized bed, dresser, bookcase, closet, large desk, space heater and full bathroom. The sunny 2nd floor bedroom with a large window area is 8.5' x 12' (2.6m x 3.65m) and contains a queen-sized bed with heated mattress pad, area rug, dresser, space heater and desk. Guest access You'll have exclusive access to your two 2nd floor bedrooms and a private bathroom that is accessible through the larger bedroom. You'll have access to the shared downstairs bathroom, kitchen, dining room, washer & dryer, breakfast nook, living room, fireplace and backyard. If the other room upstairs is not booked and therefore open, you can use the bathroom in that room. Pantry and refrigerator space will be provided, along with a basket of instant coffee, coffee grounds that you can brew on a stovetop coffeemaker, tea, oatmeal, cold cereal, granola/energy bars and (sometimes) fruit. In the silver and black fridge, you'll access filtered water, soy & almond milk and condiments. There will be toiletries in the bathroom and towels in each bedroom also provided. There are slippers provided on top of the shoe rack in the living room you can use to get around in the generally shoe-less house. You'll have access to a bicycle, a bike helmet and a bike rack. You can use the stationary bike and the elliptical machine in the living room. During your stay As a long time resident of the house and the Bay, I am a good resource on the local goings on. I can actively host, socialize, show the sights, but I can also be cordial and professional, respectful of distance and boundaries. Other things to note We provide both conventional and natural, unscented laundry detergent and fabric softener along with natural and conventional toiletries.
