Description
Welcome to our beautiful eco-friendly, off-grid cabin. Situated on a 24 acre hobby farm in the lush Byron Hinterland, this rustic retreat offers a peaceful place to unwind and reconnect in nature. Enjoy the most stunning sunsets from the deck, feed the friendly cows or pick from our organic fruit orchard as you immerse yourself in all that slow living offers. Perfect for a solo stay or for couples curious about off-grid living, this hidden gem is a serene escape for the sustainably minded. The space Nestled over 100 metres away from the main house, offering the tranquillity of spaciousness and seclusion, our off-grid cabin faces west for those gorgeous sunset views. Our friendly and curious cows sometimes come up close to graze, but the cabin is fully fenced for you to enjoy those quiet cups of tea on the deck or soak up those starry nights by the fire pit uninterrupted. Inside you’ll feel right at home with a king sized bed, luxury linen sheets and everything you could need for a comfortable, relaxing stay. Soak in the free standing bath with all natural amenities provided, including natural soap, shampoo and conditioner and fresh towels. The bathroom also features a rain head shower and a composting toilet, in line with our eco-friendly ethos. The kitchenette is equipped with all the must-haves for an effortless stay; including a toaster, kettle, gas stove, pans, plates, glasses, cutlery, utensils and a coffee plunger. Basic pantry items such as oil, salt, pepper, tea, coffee and some milk are also provided. Guest access You’ll find the front gate to our property is closed but not locked, so please let yourself in and close the gate behind you so the cows don't escape. Follow the driveway a couple of hundred metres, past a black shed until you come to a power pole at the bottom of a small hill which you can drive up to park close to the cabin. In the event of rain, you’ll likely need a 4WD to get up the hill, so alternatively you can park at the bottom of the hill and walk up to the cabin. Other things to note We have beautiful, friendly cows that may hang around on the outside of the fence. If you'd like to hand feed them, please ask us for some lucerne and we can give you some. They also like bread (stale too) so feel free to give them some instead of throwing it out. We also have an organic fruit orchard along the driveway when you first come in. Feel free to pick any of the fruit that is in season at the time. Due to the nature of the area, abundant wildlife may be present near the cabin around the property (and the odd spider web). Please be mindful of appropriate footwear when exploring outside, and if you require any extra firewood during your stay, feel free to help yourself by foraging any that you find on the property. The cabin is powered by solar and rainwater, so please be mindful of power consumption and leaving the water running for long periods of time. To ensure the composting toilet is pleasant to use for future guests, please ensure care is taken by using toilet spray and the sawdust provided after each use to help break down waste and minimise odours. While a mild odour is expected for composting toilets, we do our best to carefully maintain it and we appreciate your understanding and mindful use. Our property is 30 minutes to Byron Bay, 20 minutes to Mullumbimby, 10 minutes to Clunes Village Shop & Cafe, 10 minutes to Federal Village and Restaurant and 10 minutes to Minyon Falls. There are plenty of things to do around the local area, with lots of waterfalls, hikes and places to go for picnics. We’re also centrally located to an abundance of beautiful places to explore on a day trip - please feel free to ask us for any recommendations. Registration Details PID-STRA-68802
