However, it is also perfectly situated close to the amenities of Cocles and only minutes away from the vibrant town of Puerto Viejo. The house is within easy walking distance of restaurants, cafes and grocery stores and it is only an 8 minute drive to Puerto Viejo. It is an ideal vacation spot for people who want to relax to the sound of the waves and jungle. Nature surrounds and enhances the house, whilst maintaining high standards of comfort and design. There is also self contained 1 bedroom bungalow located on the same property called Casa Caracola, perfect for couples. The 2 houses are 50 meters apart so offer plenty of privacy. Note to guests unfamiliar with the tropical rainforest: Costa Rica boasts abundant wildlife including sloths, monkeys, toucans, insects, geckos, and ants. It is one of the most biodiverse places on earth and without constantly spraying toxic chemicals we can not avoid that some of these tiny creatures come inside the house. If this makes you uncomfortable, maybe this is not the best place to visit, and we will not offer refunds for creatures visiting the house. On the contrary, we welcome visitors who embrace the unparalleled nature that we have to offer. After all “Pura Vida” is the reason we love Costa Rica. The entire house is accessible to guests. Amenities include the areas best grocery store 3 minutes walking, the beach in front of the house is wide and spacious, and one of the best restaurants in the area (La Pecora Nera) 10 minutes walking. It is an easy bike to town from the property. Bicycle is the main form of transportation in the area. The main road is flat and well paved. Many guests rent vehicles and walking is also a viable option with multiple supermarkets, restaurants, and attractions close by. The house is well ventilated and cool with natural air flow and ceiling fans. The house has beautiful hard wood floors throughout. Mid-week cleaning and laundry changes are available for an extra charge.
