Sage Cabin is a rustic but clean, comfortable refuge surrounded by peaceful nature, within a 30-60 minute drive of several National Scenic Rivers and Ozark attractions like trails, springs and old mills. Just a short walk across the retreat center campus is an outdoor dining patio area where there is wifi and a beautiful view of 3 acre Lake Ananda Kanan. The Lake itself has a trail around it, a canoe, and a dock for swimming or fishing. Ananda Kanan is a spiritual retreat center, and has been is use for over 30 years by people seeking higher consciousness. This makes it an ideal space for people looking to connect with themselves and with nature. Guests staying in the cabins have access to classes in meditation and yoga or art. Guests are free to use the trails in the woods and around the pond, as well as the outdoor cafe area with wifi. Near to the cabin is an outdoor pickleball court in a beautiful natural setting. There is also an indoor court in case of weather. I am usually available with advance notice to prepare vegetarian meals for guests. Or guests may choose to prepare their own food in their cabin kitchenette. I often join guests at the dining hall for meals, unless they prefer to dine in private. My art studio/gallery is next door and I am happy to give a tour when requested. Nearby are lots of things to do and see. The National Scenic Rivers are a half hour away. There are several good coffee places and restaurants in West Plains, a 20 min. drive. Viandel Winery is a 20 min. drive away. We are located in the middle of four different river systems, with opportunities for swimming, floating and historical tours. A short walk from the cabin is the retreat center dining hall, the upstairs of which contains an art gallery featuring the work of the host Michael McClure, a professional artist. The cabin is located next to a large free parking lot. The lake is a short walk from the cabin. In front of the dining hall is an outdoor patio with tables and chairs and a view of the lake. There are several small towns nearby where supplies like food can be purchased. Medical facilities, including hospital, are also there within 20 minutes.
