Located in the very heart of Piebalga, the current ZELTA KROGS has taken its name from the old Zelta Krogs that once stood nearby. The fathers of E. Dārziņš and J. Sudrabkalns worked as innkeepers in this tavern. Currently, the old pub is in ruins, and a museum “Jāņaskola” has been established nearby for the sons of both pub owners. However, the new ZELTA KROGS has continued its public life in various ways over time, and at the beginning of 2024 it was rebuilt and renovated, reopening its doors as an elegant guest house with 4 bedrooms for 12 guests. The space The Golden Pub Guest House is a freshly renovated old log house that has gained a whole new breath, combining the ancient with the modern. The 1st floor of the house has two 2-bed bedrooms (separate single beds) with a shared bathroom, a fully equipped shared kitchen, a living room/fireplace room, a spacious hallway, a ski storage and an extra toilet. On the 2nd floor of the house there are two 4-bed bedrooms. Each of these rooms has a private bathroom, a large double bed and a bunk bed (also suitable for adults). These rooms are perfect for families.
