Now a bit about our town. El Quinche although little known from outside of the country has very important religious and spiritual importance to the mostly Catholic population of Ecuador. Every year on the 21st of November, Ecuadorians celebrate the pilgrimage to El Quinche by walking to the town from every corner of the country. They do this in honour of the miracle of the Virgin Mary, relating to an event that occurred 400 years ago where the Virgin Mary appeared to the shepherds. People come from near and far to pray to La Virgen de El Quinche. There is attached to the church an art museum where art pieces depicting the history of the town and the miracles attributed it are shown. Guest access Guests have full access to the home kitchen.
