Remote oceanfront Glamping "The Driftwood" Hut

The Driftwood is 1 of 6 glamping huts at Mussel Beach Private Getaway. Mussel Beach is a place to rejuvenate in nature whilst enjoying the tranquility of remoteness of offgrid glamping (fancy camping). Mussel Beach Private Getaway is located on the north side of Barclay Sound, with 1.45km of south and east facing oceanfront. Mussel Beach site sits between the Long Beach and Broken Group Islands units of the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve, near Ucluelet. The space The Driftwood glamping hut is one of our 2 smaller huts and has a crawl up loft with a double sized mattress. The lower area has a build in couch for sitting and TV trays if the weather is bad and you want to eat inside. Also inside you will have a 5 day cooler and garbage can. The huts comes with a nice deck and covered outside kitchen. Next to the deck is a area with a picnic table ,propane fire pit and hammock. The huts does have solar lights but no power. Our Bedding is supplied by Quilts Etc. The very clean out houses sit between the 2 mini huts and we have shared shower house (powerless but hot water) within the Mussel Beach Private Getaway. Guest access Mussel Beach is located is a remote location off an 8km logging/gravel road. A 4x4 is not necessary but vehicle with some clearance is recommended. There is no public transit so a car is a must. The town of Ucluelet is the closest shopping which is 1/2 drive. The Pacific Rim Park is 45 minutes and Tofino is an hour. Driving time from Nanaimo is 3 hours and if coming from the mainland booking a ferry is recommended. Highway 4 is under construction so pleas check out Drivebc for closures. Guest are free to walk around the property but we ask that you don't enter other guest private sites. You will also have access to the public shower house. Other things to note We do recommend that you show up with all your supplies due to our remoteness. Shopping in Ucluelet and Tofino is limited and expensive. We do supply freezer packs so ice is not needed but we do also sell it . There is cell reception but no public wifi. We also have a strict Bare Aware program here due to the wildlife so you may want to check out their info wildsafebc website. The huts do not have power but we do supply power packs so you can charge your phones and cameras. We can not charge larger items as we rely on solar power. Due to the wildlife we cannot store large amounts of garbage . Please take your garbage and recycling with you when you check out. Please be aware we are off a 8km gravel road, a 4x4 is not required but a vehicle with some clearance is recommended. Registration Details Provincial registration number: Exempt
