Description
Our family house in Oaxaca de Juarez Mexico, barrio of Jalatlaco is now for rent. It is a true gem and one of a kind in the historic part of the city. The house was built in the traditional colonial style. The colors are vibrant and in a traditional Oaxacan palette. Perfectly located, it is a 5 minute walk to the Llano Park, a 15 minute walk to the Santo Domingo Cathedral, and a 17 minute walk to the Zócalo (center of town). The ADO bus station is only a 5 minute walk. The space The ground floor has a wrap around patio, a living room/dining room (seats six). There is a large central patio garden with a sculpture by Mexican artist Marco Palma. The master bedroom is on the ground floor and has a full bathroom and shower/tub and walk-in closet. The kitchen is equipped. The cleaning person can do laundry at an extra cost. She has worked with us for more than 10 years. She comes twice a week to take care of the general cleaning of the house. The upstairs floor has two bedrooms, one queen bed and two twin beds, and a shared bath (shower and WC). Each room has its own sink. Wrap around patio; Large terrace human game of "Chutes and Ladders". The upper roof terrace has 365 degree views of the city and the mountains to the North, and a hammock to relax in. Guest access You may access any part of the house except the office, cleaning room, and art studio. It is an open house. The roof top terrace is very special for the sunsets. Other things to note We have a little garden in the center of the house. It is often full of life, hummingbirds, butterflies, ants, and plants. They pay us no mind. Occasionally we get a water bug or two. They do no harm and it is rare. I thought about fumigating the place but it would send away/kill so many other species and I am firmly against that.
