Located in Balcones de Majagual, the villa has incredible views of the Pacific. 200 mega fibre optic internet, newly redone pool The space Casa La Serena — your own secluded piece of paradise in San Juan del Sur, and one of Balcones de Majagual’s most loved homes. Designed as a romantic hideout, Casa La Serena features a private pool, a stone dining table for outdoor meals overlooking the ocean, and a primary bedroom with full-height plantation shutters that feel like a deluxe treehouse. Balconies off both the primary suite and living room, a comfortable well-equipped kitchen, picture-window bathrooms, and beautiful exotic woods throughout give the home warmth and character. While the home shows some age, it remains a comfortable and inviting place to be surrounded by a tropical forest teeming with life. Located in the boutique seaside community of Balcones de Majagual, the house is just a 15–20 minute walk to the ocean. Wake to birdsong, the sound of the surf, and the calls of howler monkeys—often heard and sometimes seen. When it’s time to connect, enjoy unlimited Wi-Fi included in your stay. The home includes a second bedroom/study on the lower level with a full convertible bed, private bathroom, picture window, and a beautiful wooden desk—ideal for two couples or a family with older children. Kitchen, dining, and pool areas flow seamlessly together and can be opened to create a generous, social living space. Casa La Serena is close to three of Nicaragua’s best surfing and swimming beaches, including Playa Maderas and Playa Majagual. Kayaking, hiking, fishing, and canopy tours can be arranged in nearby San Juan del Sur, which also offers a variety of restaurants and bars. This self-catering home includes a fully equipped kitchen with coffee maker, toaster, dinnerware and silverware for six, linens and towels, toiletries, hair dryer, safe deposit box, flat-screen TV with DVD player, large closets, and thoughtful design details. Cleaning service is provided for stays over five days, along with 24-hour security. A 4WD vehicle is required to access Casa La Serena (not optional), and we are happy to assist with booking. The home has electric hot water and a backup generator. During power outages, the generator runs fans and the refrigerator only—hot water and the pool pump will not operate. Battery power is limited, and prolonged outages may occur without refund. Please note the home is south-facing with wide-open views, which means it can become quite warm in the afternoons during March and April, particularly in the main living area and primary suite. It’s a perfect time to head to the beach, but guests sensitive to heat should take this into consideration. Please note: The coastal highway near the home is currently under construction and visible from the property. Daytime construction activity and occasional machinery or truck noise may be noticeable as the area continues to develop. Guest access The entire home and pool are yours to enjoy!
