We are eco-friendly cabins, we operate 100% with renewable energy (electric solar panels, and solar water heater). We try to make our visit to Holbox respect nature, and all the mangroves that surround us. The construction of the buildings is with palm wood, which is a very Caribbean and fresh wood, in addition to being a construction visually integrated into the environment. Holbox is a paradise island located in the Yum Balam biosphere nature reserve, where we will arrive by taking a ferry from Chiquilá. The ferries leave approximately every 30 minutes, the first at 6 in the morning, and the last at 9:30 pm. Once in Holbox, our means of transport are golf carts, bicycles or simply our flip-flops. All the streets are sandy, and it is very good to walk barefoot. But in the rainy season, the streets may have puddles. You can enjoy the nature that Holbox offers, the richness of the Gulf of Mexico with its birds, mangroves, iguanas, flamingos, and all kinds of fauna. In summer, we see the Whale Shark, and you can go swimming with it. We also have a lot of mosquitoes! (they love to come out at sunrise and sunset) It's important to remember that we live with solar panels, and that this has a few restrictions when it comes to connecting high-consumption equipment (hair or clothes irons, dryers, or similar), which can only be used while there is sun and the batteries are charging. We ask all guests to take care of the resources, for the good of all the neighbors. For this same reason, we currently do not have air conditioning. There are no problems with cell phone chargers or computers or similar items, our system provides 110v electricity. Our rooms are equipped with a king size bed, ceiling fan, TV, wifi (limited connection due to geographical situations), a full bathroom with shower (sometimes the hot water takes up to 2 minutes to come hot, then it is at full capacity). When you arrive, you'll find everything ready to use. The bed will be set up with a mosquito pavilion, and we have a shower towel for each guest. In the common areas we have a pool to cool off, a sunbathing area, a dining room with a very large table, GAS GRILL, we have dishes and cutlery, you will find them in the room. Our cabins have mosquito nets. When you leave the doors open, a delicious pure air flows in. At the moment we do NOT have air conditioning. How to get to Holbox: as we mentioned before, you have to get to Chiquilá to take the ferry. If you have your own vehicle, you can park it in any of the town's parking lots. If you need information on private or shared transfers from Cancun, or from the airport or another location, we can help you hire the service, or give you information on public transport. There is also the option of coming by plane with spectacular views!!! What to do: The most important thing is to get lost in the magical village and the paradisiacal beaches. We are on a fishing island and eat fresh fish at tikin xic, some coconut shrimp, a lobster pizza.... we will give you the best tips! We will also recommend the best tours and activities to do! If you like fishing... it is the place. Or a horseback ride? Or kayaking? Rent a golf cart? We have been in Holbox for many years, we can give you good advice on how to enjoy paradise. House rules: •No parties or events. •Smoking is not allowed inside the rooms. • Respect the peace of others, moderating volumes of music and voices. After 10 pm, silence is requested. •Save electricity, and understand the limitations. •Check-in time: after 3:00 pm. •Check-out time: 11 am. • Rooms have a separate entrance. Please be sure to read how to get there and access the room. • Comply with all applicable rules and laws, and comply with Airbnb policies. • It is strictly forbidden to light any type of fire near the rooms (including candles). • Non-hosted visitors cannot come without notice and consent. • The use of illicit substances will be grounds for direct expulsion, and notification to the authorities. • We are not responsible for weather conditions.
