Other things to note Palazzo Colesanti is a residence of extraordinary historical and architectural value, whose origins are rooted in the history of Civita di Bagnoregio. Documented since the 15th century as an ancient residence of the Colesanti family, the building stands on the site of a large Roman villa, of which it still preserves important vestiges. An ancient Roman cistern carved into the tuff and part of the original hydraulic system are still visible in the garden. Some architectural elements of the Roman villa have been reused over the centuries in the buildings and monuments of the village. Inside the property, there are also impressive historical structures and ancient columns incorporated into the building's architecture, evidence of the different eras that have followed one another here. Respecting the uniqueness and cultural value of the building, we ask guests to treat the rooms with particular care and attention, contributing to the preservation of a heritage that spans more than two thousand years of history. The residence is built over several levels connected by internal staircases and, precisely because of its historical features, may not be suitable for people with reduced mobility.
