With regards to getting here from Puerto Jimenez, you have 3 options: Sansa: Colectivo- This is the public bus service (an open backed truck) which leaves twice a day from opposite the supermarket '96' in Puerto Jimenez. Ask anyone in town if you can’t find it. It leaves at 6am and 1:30pm. The journey on average takes 2.5-3 hours and costs $10 per person. Tell the driver you are coming to Finca Exotica and he will drop you off right outside. Going back to town, you can pick it up at around 8:30am and 3:30pm from right outside Finca Exotica. Taxi- This will cost around $80 for a one-way trip. It is quicker and obviously you can choose the time you want to leave town. It's also much less bumpy than the colectivo! If you would like to come by private taxi, let us know and we shall happily book it for you.If you are arriving by plane we will need to know: Which airline: Flight number: Estimated arrival time to Puerto Jimenez: Please note that we DO NOT receive any commission from taxis, therefore the taxi ride is not more expensive if you reserve it with us. Actually, it is usually cheaper. We strongly recommend organizing a taxi through us if this is your preferred method of travel as there is an increasing number of ´illegal´ taxis now on the Osa Peninsula- we do not want to promote this service by giving these pirate drivers work. The local taxi drivers we use are safe, friendly, and fully licensed. If you are driving, please only come in a 4x4. Please let us know if you would like to rent a car and we shall recommend you a good company. There are various rivers to cross and for this reason a 4x4 is recommended. The journey takes 1.5-2 hours. Please arrive no later than 5pm- the road is much easier to drive during daylight hours. There is only one road between Puerto Jimenez and Carate- you just follow the road and look out for our main entrance on the right hand side opposite the beach. Our main entrance is found just before the end of the small airstrip. We offer free parking for all guests. When you have a minute, please let us know: How will you be coming to Finca Exotica? Approximate time of arrival at Finca Exotica: Food preferences (i.e. vegetarian, vegan, other) and allergies: The national park service has recently changed its reservation regulations. All reservations now need to be made in advance and you MUST go with a guide. If you would like to visit Corcovado National Park for a day hike, please let me know AS SOON AS POSSIBLE the following information: How many people: Date: The price of this shared tour is $70 per person (4-6 people in a group). This price includes guide and entrance ticket. Private tours cost $90 per person. We can organize other tours on arrival for you, no problem. We must charge you $16 per person in advance for the entrance ticket. The remaining $54 should be paid in cash at check out. If you pay by card for the remaining balance (VISA or MasterCard ONLY) then a 5% fee shall be incurred. These tickets are non refundable and the dates CANNOT be changed once a reservation has been made. By replying to this email you are acknowledging that the tickets are non refundable and permitting us to charge the card you used to make your Finca Exotica reservation IMMEDIATELY, to pay for the entrance ticket(s). If you then cancel this reservation, the ticket cost is NON-REFUNDABLE. The only other tour that should be reserved ahead of time is the ‘Dolphin (and whale when in season) Watching & Snorkeling Tour’, which departs from the public dock in Puerto Jimenez (or Golfito should you wish to do this trip on another part of your vacations). Many of our guests choose to do this tour on their last day at Finca Exotica so they do not have to go back and forth into town but if you do not mind the drive then we will reserve this tour for you for any prefered date.
