Apartment with private terrace on the second floor of a colonial house from the XVIII in the heart of Oaxaca City. 5 blocks from the Santo Domingo Temple, the Zócalo, etc. In the perfect location to walk around the historic center of the city, visit the most important locations and easily access public transport. The apartment is on the top floor of a building listed by the National Institute of Anthropology and History thanks to its conservation. The space The apartment is on the top floor of an old colonial house, with a private terrace. The construction is from the late 18th century. XVIII but with all the amenities of the 21st century, however, take into account that there will be some unevenness in the floor and since we are in the heart of the tourist area the noise of the street and the neighboring terraces could eventually be uncomfortable, also remember that in Oaxaca we are always partying. The colonial-style house retains features of an older era, such as the original adobe walls up to 80 cm thick, the mud floors, details in green quarry typical of the region and the traditional scheme around the courtyard. After entering from the street through the hallway and passing through the courtyard, climbing a 60 cm wide spiral staircase, you reach your private terrace and the apartment which has a full bathroom, hot water generated by a solar heater, 1 double bed, sofa and work table. Simple kitchenette with sink, microwave oven, coffee maker and a small minibar. Guest access The house is located in the heart of Oaxaca in the most touristy area of the city, the neighborhood is very safe and completely accessible both by car, on foot and by public transport. You will arrive at the main entrance of the house and crossing the hallway (vestibular space) and the traditional Oaxacan courtyard you will find a spiral staircase (60 cm wide) that will take you to your private terrace and your apartment where you will rest from your long walks through the city's main tourist attractions. Other things to note We must be careful with water consumption, in downtown Oaxaca we currently get water every 45 days at least, however we always have it because we have water tanks and a cistern. The quality of the internet service in the city may vary by season, however at home we have fiber optics and we have never had complaints about it. VISITORS ARE NOT ALLOWED for safety reasons as it is a family home. The noise from the street and surrounding terraces could eventually bother you. The apartment is located on the top floor of the house so in the months of April and May it can be hot, you will have a ceiling fan in the bedroom and a movable fan for the rest of the space. We have a Boston terrier dog (5 years old) and eventually a beagle (14 years old) visits us who are very friendly. You receive the apartment clean and sanitized, if you want to do additional cleaning you will find what you need on the terrace (broom, dustpan, etc.) and the liquid products in the cupboard under the sink. Remember to let me know your check-out time in advance (check-out before 12 noon) as there is not always someone at home to receive the keys. This is a family home, which is why it is unfortunately not possible for you to leave your bags to pick up later. Half a block away there is a convenience store and less than two blocks away you will find a bakery, dry cleaner, grocery store, restaurants, stationery store, etc. There is also a public transport stop on the nearby corners.
