The area on the doorstep is ideal for outdoor pursuits, walking/hiking, cycle trails, mountain biking tracks, fishing, climbing, kayaking and Cwmorthin Waterfalls within a short distance. The main local attractions include Zip World Slate caverns, the longest zip line in Europe and fastest in the world, this is a great underground adventure. The slate mines now hold the prestigious status of a world heritage site, awarded by UNESCO and visitors can take enthralling underground trips there to see mining as it was done in days gone by.
