Sheepfold Cottage offers a peaceful, away-from-it-all retreat set above the River Barle, sleeping 2 with the option of extra guests on the sofa bed on request. The one-bedroom cottage has a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom (shower over bath), plus a separate second toilet. The space The open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining room sits beneath lofty beamed ceilings, with two comfortable sofas, a Smart TV with DVD player, a wood burner-effect electric fire, and a bookcase of books and board games for quieter evenings. The sofa bed provides flexible sleeping for extra guests, though bedding and towels would need to be brought along for this. The kitchen is well equipped with an electric oven and hob, combination microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge with ice compartment and washing machine. French doors open onto a sunny, private enclosed patio with table and chairs, ideal for breakfast or coffee, while a larger shared garden across the parking area offers picnic tables and plenty of space for dogs to stretch their legs. There's also a private spring water supply, a washing line, and a barbecue with the first bag of charcoal included. A welcome tray with tea and fresh cake awaits on arrival. Parking is available for one car immediately outside the cottage, with a second space available on request. Up to two dogs are welcome (possibly a third by prior arrangement), suitable for up to three small dogs or two large, with a supplement of GBP 3 per dog per night; dogs should be kept off the furniture and cleaned up after in the patio and shared garden. Smoking is not permitted. The property is all on one level, which may suit those with restricted mobility, though it is not wheelchair accessible. A highchair and travel cot are available, making it suitable for families too. At Christmas, guests are welcomed with a decorated tree, mince pies and clotted cream. Check-in is from 4.30pm and check-out by 10am.
