Renowned for its quaint charm and breathtaking landscapes, Holmfirth offers visitors a truly authentic English experience. Located amidst the rolling hills and lush valleys of West Yorkshire, Holmfirth boasts a rich history dating back centuries. Famous for being the setting of the beloved British television series "Last of the Summer Wine," this vibrant village captures the essence of rural life with its cobbled streets, stone cottages, and welcoming atmosphere. Holmfirth's vibrant community spirit is evident in its bustling town centre, where traditional pubs, charming cafes, and quaint shops line the streets. Stroll along the winding roads and discover hidden gems, from artisanal boutiques to family-run bakeries, where you can sample delicious treats and locally sourced delicacies. Nature enthusiasts will find themselves in paradise amidst Holmfirth's breathtaking scenery. Explore the surrounding countryside with its verdant meadows, babbling brooks, and ancient woodlands, perfect for leisurely walks, scenic bike rides, and picnics with loved ones. Be sure to visit the iconic Holme Valley, where you can admire panoramic views of the rolling hills and rugged moorlands that inspired generations of artists and poets. For those seeking cultural enrichment, Holmfirth offers a wealth of attractions and activities to suit every taste. Immerse yourself in the village's artistic heritage at the Holmfirth Artweek, an annual festival showcasing the works of local artists across various mediums. History buffs can explore the village's fascinating past at the Holmfirth Museum, where exhibits and artefacts trace Holmfirth's evolution from a small agricultural settlement to a thriving community. With its idyllic setting and warm hospitality, Holmfirth is the perfect destination for a relaxing countryside retreat or an unforgettable family holiday. Whether you're sipping tea in a cozy tearoom, wandering through scenic countryside trails, or simply soaking in the timeless beauty of Yorkshire's landscape, Holmfirth promises an experience that will capture your heart and leave you longing to return again and again. Experience the magic of Holmfirth and create memories that will last a lifetime. Getting Around: Holmfirth no longer has a railway station so it's best to go to Huddersfield by train and then onto Holmfirth by bus. There is a railway station on the rural 'Penistone Line' in the village of Brockholes about 2–3 miles from Holmfirth. There are regular bus routes to the surrounding villages, towns and cities. Taxis are also available upon request. Other Things to Note: No smoking No parties Pets - No pets upstairs, on the furniture or to be left alone if they are none for barking. The property is an under dwelling. It is rare, but occasionally you can hear noise from above the property. The property has been refurbished with sound insulation to reduce this as much as possible. Interaction with Guests: We are always available to contact via phone/email/sms and will have someone available in person for emergency purposes.
