Region: The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers. Town: Sherburn is a village and civil parish lying in the county of North Yorkshire, although historically part of the East Riding of Yorkshire until 1974. Sherburn rests on the south side of the Vale of Pickering and is immediately north of the Yorkshire Wolds, as well as within easy reach of the North York Moors National Park to the north. Offering a great base for outdoor adventures throughout the North Yorkshire countryside, Sherburn is also not too far from Scarborough and Filey. The village is home to a Post Office, a pub, a convenience store and a newsagents, with a handful of other local businesses too. Nearby attractions include The Great Ryedale Maze, North Yorkshire Water Park, Wykeham Lakes Fishery, Playdale Farm Park, Go Ape Dalby and Filey Bird Garden and Animal Park. Enjoy days on either of Scarborough's beaches, visit the castle and sample the excellent food on offer in the many restaurants and pubs, or venture down to Filey and Filey Brigg.
