City villa, 4 minutes to the beach

The town villa is located in the old town of Sitia, on a quiet street, just steps away from the sea, or the city beach, the harbor promenade and restaurants/cafes/bars on the city shore. The property consists of the main building (for up to 4 guests) and a small separate apartment (bookable for 2 additional guests). The main house has two floors. In the lower area are the living room, dining area and a large kitchen. Upstairs there are two bedrooms and a bathroom. The space In the 18th century, this historic and listed property was built in the traditional architectural style. It is now considered one of the most beautiful in the middle of the city. It is located in a small street, just steps from the sea or the harbor promenade and restaurants on the city shore. The house was completely gutted and lovingly restored by Kostas and his wife Laurette until 2009. A charming French influence characterizes the interior of the house in particular. The previous owner, a native Cretan from Sitia, sought happiness in distant Paris in his youth, learned the art of cooking, was a successful restaurateur and spent the summer holidays in this house with his large family. The passionate chef even brought a stove from Paris, which is still well known to the restaurateurs based in Sitia today. The property consists of the main building and an extension, which has been used as a separate small apartment since the renovation. The main house has two floors. The kitchen is well equipped and offers space for communal cooking due to its size and the aforementioned large gas stove delights all cooking enthusiasts. Beautiful dishes and romantic lighting support a nice atmosphere when eating together and the dishwasher extends the coziness. The house has many doors that lead directly to the outside area. Thus, the living area expands to the charming courtyard. Here the vacation day can start relaxed. A large table and many seating areas invite you to an extensive breakfast and dinner. Actually, there is always a place to linger in the very spacious outdoor area depending on the position of the sun. A large daybed and deck chairs are available for sunbathing or chilling. The pergola with a roof made of natural material subtly lets the sun's rays through and invites you to take a nap or a cozy get-together in the evening – an ideal place for an aperitif or raki, the traditional drink of the island. In general, the property is characterized by very special charm and romance, especially in the evening. On the upper floor of the house are two bedrooms, a toilet and a bathroom with a large mirror and a shower. Hand towels and bath towels are available. The balcony covers the entire front area of the upper floor, where you have a magnificent view of the mountainous landscape and the sea – also a wonderful place to start the day with an espresso. The two bedrooms have large and high double beds with comfortable mattresses and a large built-in wardrobe. One of the two rooms has sea views and views of the beach. Both bedrooms have modern air conditioning. The downstairs apartment in the style of the main house has a kitchen-living room with a kitchenette, large refrigerator, washing machine and a dining counter for two people. Two armchairs invite you to read. This small apartment has a cozy bedroom with a comfortable double bed with single mattresses, air conditioning and a shower room with toilet. The property is only rented out completely and not shared with other guests. Ideal for larger families or friends, up to 6 adults. So you can spend a nice time together, but with privacy. Guest access The property is only rented in full and not shared with other guests. There is a main building (bookable for up to 4 guests) and a small apartment (additionally bookable for up to 2 additional guests). Please note that the rental costs increase from the 5th guest. The additional costs for the apartment can be seen if you specify 5 or 6 guests when selecting the property. The price for up to 4 guests is only for the main house. A booking will only be accepted after the signed rental agreement has been returned. For this purpose, a copy of the identity card is required. Other things to note The city of Sitia is the starting point for those who like to go on discovery trips or hikes along the coast or in the mountains. Sitia has a port and offers ferry trips to Santorini, Rhodes, Piraeus, Milos, Kapatos, Kasos and Analfi. This unique landscape in the surrounding area is characterized by thyme, olive groves, mountains and gorges. In addition to the beautiful and nearby city beach, other beaches for every taste in the area are easy to find. The weekly market in Sitia always takes place on Tuesdays, offering only regional products. A good seasonal diet, almost exclusively organically grown, is the program here. Although a large supermarket right next door offers all the products we know, finely sorted and varied, this is the hotspot on this day. One of the best olive oils in the world comes from the region around Sitia. Only the small aromatic Koroneiki olives are grown, which are harvested here in the months of December to February.
