Casa “Las Mandarinas” is the culmination of a seven year master-plan project that tastefully combines modern architectural elements with the classic colonial-styled themes which make La Antigua such a wonderful place to visit. This property is part of a larger multi-home retreat (see our other AirBnB listings) which combines the open landscape areas with the interior living spaces in a very elegant way without sacrificing privacy. The end result is a beautiful abode for you to enjoy!!! The space Relax to the sounds of the large centerpiece fountain, dine "al-fresco" in the lower level Spanish Terrace area while marveling at the 360 degree rooftop terrace with views of volcanoes Agua, Fuego, and Acatenango. The house is centrally located, a short car ride from the center of town, but sits in a secured gated neighborhood away from city noise. The main anchoring living-space of Casa “Las Mandarinas” is the large and elegant great-room. This space is well-appointed with a large fireplace and chimney at it’s center. Additionally, this room boasts a spectacular 2.5 story high cathedral ceiling, with exposed cedar wood beam ceilings. The furniture and complementary furnishings and decorations have been tastefully selected making this an ideal space for deep relaxation, and, is simply a reflection of the high level of craftsmanship and design sense found in La Antigua, Guatemala! Off of the great-room is a fully equipped gourmet kitchen, and an adjacent outdoor “al-Fresco” dining room overlooking the garden. In addition, the house offers two spacious light-filled bedrooms on the main floor with a shared bathroom. The 1st bedroom is tastefully decorated with a large chest of drawers, closet, Mayan weavings and flat screen TV for entertainment. This bedroom opens up to a private patio with a teak table, four chairs and an awesome garden view of Volcan De Agua. The second bedroom, on the same level, has two twin beds and a separate set of french folding doors which opens up to the main garden. The third bedroom, off the main living room space, doubles as an office studio and a bedroom. Look up at the ceiling to enjoy the beautiful blue-colored vaulted dome which adds to the spectacular feel of this space! This multi-purpose room has its own full bathroom with a glass shower and authentic mosaic tiles. The upper level encompasses the master suite, and one of the biggest surprises of this home. Lining the stairs to the master suite is our own vertical living wall, full of real tropical plants of all shapes and sizes. As you enter the master suite, you will be transported to magical land of India. Be inspired by the rich colors, design and culture of this ancestral land. Just a playful take, on our part. No! You are not dreaming.....you are still in La Antigua, Guatemala. But for a second..... and while in this space, you have been transported to South-Asia and all its beauty!!! Attached to the master suite is a spacious private bathroom with high ceilings and a claw-foot tub. There is s much more to see in this beautiful property, that it is hard to put it all into words. To be fair, the photos don’t do this gorgeous place justice - you must see to believe. You For instance, enjoy breakfast on the second story terrace, overlooking all of the surrounding volcanos, coffee farms and our wonderful manicured garden and neighborhood. The terrace's spiral stairs brings you to our 1st floor Spanish terrace. Where you are able to sip your local coffee and eat lunch, while you enjoy the views of the garden, listen to the sounds of the fountains and the pleasant music from our multi-room stereo system. One added bonus is the possible access to our own private lap pool and jacuzzi located on our other property next door (which is connected through a common gate). Please note that the pool and jacuzzi are available when the adjacent property is not rented. Plus, we now offer you a NEWLY built Jacuzzi / gazebo exterior living and entertaining space atop our second floor, “Casita” deck, which is sure to satisfy the most discerning guests.
