The fully equipped kitchen has been recently renovated with porcelain and quartz countertops, high-end appliances, and new cabinetry. - Large island with casual seating for four - Induction cooktop, convection and steam ovens - Breakfast nook - Walk-in pantry/scullery with sink, oven, dishwasher, additional cabinets and open shelves for food storage ★ Lower Level ★ The lower level of the house is primed for entertainment. Second living room, large screen TV with surround sound, convertible ping pong/air hockey table, assorted board games, exercise equipment, and full bathroom. Floor-to-ceiling glass provides stunning lake views from this level too! ★ Outdoor Space ★ Step outside to your own private paradise. The expansive wraparound decks offer the ideal spot for sipping your morning coffee or enjoying a glass of wine as the sun sets over the lake. The swimming pool invites you to cool off on warm days, and the fire pit is perfect for cozy evenings under the stars. Unwind in the hammock and let the tranquil sounds of the water lull you into relaxation. ★ Amenities ★ -Salt-water swimming pool with new liner, equipment, and sunning platform with four chaise lounges overlooking the lake (NOTE: pool is unheated and will be closed for the season between early October and late April or early May) -Lakeside brick patio and fire pit -Hammock overlooking the water’s edge -Outdoor dining and lounging areas on wrap-around main level deck -Private dock (NOTE: old dock is scheduled to be replaced in late Fall) -Two sit-on-top kayaks with paddles, adult-size life jackets, and kayak launcher (instructions provided) -Ping pong / air hockey table -Cornhole and assorted board games -Exercise equipment -All linens, towels (including additional beach towels for the pool), and luxury soaps and shampoos provided for guests’ use for duration of stay; longer-term stays may require additional cleaning and stocking fees. Guest access The entire property is available to guests, including its array of amenities; however, the sailboat is off-limits. No smoking, vaping, fireworks or fires of any kind are allowed on the property or in fireplaces (aside from propane-fuel fire pit). Unfortunately, no boat slip or mooring is available on the current dock; we have been on a waiting list for a new dock, which is expected to be installed later this Fall. Until then, ASK US ABOUT DOCK AND BOAT RENTAL OPTIONS GRACIOUSLY OFFERED BY NEIGHBORS WITHIN CLOSE WALKING DISTANCE. Swimming off the dock is accessible via the swim ladder; be aware of debris and rocks that may not be visible, and swim at your own risk. No diving off the dock. The kayak launcher is strictly to be used for launching empty kayaks. PARKING AND FACILITIES: -In addition to the two-car carport, there are two uncovered parking spots near front walkway, and one uncovered parking spot to the left of the carport (NOTE: be careful to stay close to the carport, as the gravel is deep on the left-hand side) -Five car parking maximum near house; contact host for additional parking options if necessary -No RVs or trailers allowed -IMPORTANT: please do not drive or park on the grass as this is where the septic tank and drain field is located; driving or parking here could cause significant damage to the systems or your vehicle. Other things to note Self check-in: On the morning of check-in, you will receive your own personal access code to the smart lock for the property to use throughout your stay. This code will only work from your reservation check-in time through your reservation check-out time. All guests are welcome to check in as early as 2 pm, and check out no later than noon, at no additional charge. We may allow earlier check-in and later check-out upon request, but this will depend on the property and cleaning team’s availability. Additional fees will apply. ★ ACCESSIBILITY CONSTRAINTS ★ This house is perched on steep cliffs relatively high over the lake, which provide stunning panoramic views. While the main level of the house and wrap-around deck are easily accessible from the driveway with no stairs (aside from two steps up in the foyer), the grounds beyond the house are rough natural terrain, sloping steeply to the lake. The path to the dock is downhill with several sets of stairs. There is no designated path to the fire pit patio, just a fairly steep walk downhill over a natural grassy meadow. The pool is accessible from the main deck and courtyard patio down several stairs. The lower level of the house is accessible down a narrow original staircase. ★ HOUSE RULES ★ -No more than 8 people allowed for occupancy -IMPORTANT: Absolutely no visitors (day or overnight) without advance notice and prior authorization from host. This rule will be strictly enforced; violations may result in an unregistered guest fine of $100 per person, immediate termination of rental, and eviction from property with no refund. -Minimum age to book is 25; previous positive reviews from prior hosts required. -No parties, events, loud music or excessive noise; have fun, but please be respectful of our neighbors. Quiet hours are 10PM – 8AM. -Sorry, pets are not allowed anywhere on the property. -Kayak launcher may only be used by adults for launching/lifting empty kayaks (operating instructions will be provided); children under 13 not allowed on kayaks or kayak launcher, and children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. -We are a 100% smoke-free property. No smoking/vaping allowed anywhere on the property inside or out; a $500 fine will be imposed if this rule is not followed. -The fireplaces are non-functioning and may not be used by guests. No open fires (aside from the supplied propane-fuel fire pit) or fireworks of any kind allowed on the grounds, due to fire hazard. -The sailboat is strictly off-limits. -Please exercise safety at all times in and around the swimming pool area. No diving into the pool or jumping off sunning platform. -IMPORTANT: BE SURE TO MONITOR CHILDREN AT ALL TIMES AROUND POOL, LAKE, AND PROPERTY. WHILE THE PROPERTY ITSELF IS FENCED, THERE IS NO SEPARATE FENCE AROUND THE POOL OR BETWEEN THE HOUSE AND LAKE. No children’s flotation devices or swimming vests are provided. -Guests agree to be bound by a separate liability waiver and NC Vacation rental agreement when staying at the property (provided after booking). -Please feel free to enjoy meals and snacks on the upper decks, but no food or drink allowed in the pool. -Plastic cups, plastic bottles, and aluminum cans permitted poolside, but absolutely no food, glass or other sharp items allowed in or around the pool area, which may damage vinyl pool liner and pose a risk to other guests. -Do not flush anything aside from toilet paper into toilets (**including no wipes, even if they say safe for plumbing**); anything else will clog the septic system. -Please do not use bleach to clean or wash laundry; it is not safe for the septic system. -THERE WILL BE BUGS! Even though we have regular pest control services, they are an unavoidable part of lakefront and nature living. Please be prepared with bug spray, etc., and try to keep the doors closed as much as possible.
