Ivy Cottage, only a three minute stroll from the sea, provides a welcoming and comfortable base from which to enjoy the glorious beaches, activities, and the spectacular, uncrowded countryside of Pembrokeshire. It nestles in a cove at the junction of two streams. Too small for much development, Little Haven retains its traditional charm. In spite of its size, it has a seasonal sea activity centre, café, a seafood shop which offers coffee and local products, and pubs offering a warm welcome and good, locally sourced food. Just over the headland, or across the wide beach at low tide, is Broad Haven which has a well-stocked convenience store as well as a selection of other eating places, and craft, beach and water sport shops.Little Haven is within easy reach of both north and south of the county, as well as the historic centres of St Davids, Tenby, and Pembroke with its medieval castle. It makes a superb and peaceful centre from which to explore the award-winning golden beaches, dramatic coastal paths, clear waters and amazing wildlife of this splendid part of Wales. There is also a multitude of activities including golf, horse riding, zorbing, karting, family attractions, water sports and much more.Wildlife abounds. You can take boat trips to fish for mackerel, or to see the dolphins and seals, or visit the island reserves of Skomer, Skokholm, Ramsey and Grassholm with their thousands of puffins, shearwaters, gannets and gulls. The marine reserve in the waters around this section of the coast also offers rewarding snorkelling and diving. In the autumn secluded coves shelter seal pups.Other water sports available include bodyboarding, windsurfing, kayaking, sailing, and, for the adventurous, coasteering. The village has a slipway for launching small boats and there is an additional water sports shop which rents out equipment just half a mile away in Broad Haven. Or you can just relax on the sand or on the village green while keeping an eye on children dam building, exploring rock pools and playing on the sheltered, award-winning family beach. If you would rather keep your feet on dry land, the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park offers some of the best natural walking experiences in Britain. The stunning 186 mile long coastal path runs through Little Haven and there are countless other paths and trails crossing hills and moorlands, passing by prehistoric burial chambers, through secluded coves, river valleys, and ancient woodlands and along the challenging wild cliffs.
