Description

The space Kirkham Cottage is a super semi-detached stone cottage, one of three set round a courtyard in the quiet Cleddau estuary village of Lawrenny. Beautifully renovated and comfortably furnished throughout, the front door at the rear of the cottage leads through the hall to the spacious open-plan living space, where traditional features have been retained to offer character with a vaulted ceiling and exposed A-frame beams. The cottage-style fitted kitchen with central island is well-equipped, enjoy meals round the dining table and cosy up on the leather sofas round the wood burning stove on chillier evenings. A door leads out to the rear, enclosed, garden with small lawn and 2 steps up to a raised deck area, a real sheltered spot and sun trap where you can enjoy a drink on a summer’s evening or dine alfresco.  There is a useful utility room and cloakroom on the ground floor while stairs lead up to the two bedrooms and ensuite shower room in twin room above, while the master bedroom has an ensuite bathroom. Welcome retreats after a busy day exploring.  There is a community run village shop in Lawrenny, just a short walk away as well as the popular Lawrenny Arms, a riverside pub serving food, alternatively try the Quayside Tearooms also with excellent food you can enjoy while soaking up wonderful water view. Perfect for keen walkers, the area abounds with footpaths and quiet country lanes to wander, explore the stunning Cleddau estuary or the secret waterway as it is know. Follow its meandering shoreline taking in sleepy villages, largely unchanged many with local pubs including Cresswell Quay and The Carew Inn with its magical Castle. The bird and wildlife will simply astound. Being so close to the water, it is ideal for water and boating enthusiasts. What better way to explore this beautiful area than from the water in a kayak or canoe. Conveniently situated, you are only a short drive from the bustling seaside towns of Tenby and Saundersfoot, while the market town of Narberth with its selection of boutique shops, antique stores, pubs and cafes is also nearby and well worth a visit. Enjoy a meal at the Grove Hotel for that extra special treat. There is something for everyone with a choice of family attractions nearby and golfers have a selection of courses to choose from. Kirkham Cottage is a charming cottage to get away from it all, you are sure to relax and enjoy a slower pace to life whatever the time of year. Not suitable for under 3s.
