The Emerald Abode is an OPEN AIR home, which allows amazing views and contact with nature. If you do not enjoy nature, wildlife, open air living, then i do not recommend my house. newly finished, venetian plaster walls, wood floors, large view of ocean from bed, kitchen and bathroom; private infinity plunge pool with Jacuzzi (not a hot tub) and walk-out deck and BBQ... all built on hillside with over 30 miles of western sky and ocean views, incredible sunsets, famous surf breaks, modern unique design and décor. Bedroom has a/c for added comfort. it is important to note that this house has an Open air kitchen and lounge space that provides huge views. There is an abundance of NATURE here in Costa Rica, and why so many travelers come every year, but if you do not enjoy nature, wildlife, open air living, then i do not recommend my house. if you are looking for something more polished for your vacation maybe you want to try Tamarindo, Monteverde or Manual Antonio (lots of concrete, more North American type of towns and homes to rent)... , Santa Teresa and MalPais are very unique where Surfers, Yoga enthusiast and Nature lovers gather... more suitable for guests that are not afraid to mess up their manicures.. The Emerald Abode sits as a self contained home, with your private infinity plunge pool and Jacuzzi (not a heated hot tub). this is a very private home, gardens and deck with pool for your total enjoyment, with no other guests to share with. note for guests with Hip, Knee or Back problems... Most of the Nicoya Peninsula is Mountains and Valley's down to the Ocean accessible by dirt roads, making for great adventure in NATURE, but may not be comfortable if you can't manage pot holes and bumpy roads.. also the Emerald Abode has stairs to access from the parking. owner will greet you at the 'emerald abode', upon your arrival, spending a moment to orient you. A handbook is be provided to help you get around town, and find the best attractions, in the attempt to answer most of your questions about the village of Santa Teresa. Santa Teresa/MalPais is a unique Fishing Village, with famous surf breaks, and voted top 5 beaches in the world. we have a International Residential community that provides over 60 Restaurants with international cuisine, 30 surf shops with amazing surf instructors, yoga and pilates studios overlooking the ocean, gourmet private chefs, horseback riding, snorkeling, fishing, diving, excursions to Montezuma water falls...all this and much more await you ! fastest and easiest way to get to nicoya peninsula is by commuter flight from San Jose to Tambor airfield (only 35 minutes from Emerald Abode), on Sansa or Nature Air. you can arrange a 4x4 car rental pick up at tambor runway, drive 60minutes to Santa Teresa and the Emerald Abode. OR if you wish to drive, take scenic drive thru costa rica countryside, we recommended car rental 4x4 from san jose. drive thru coffee country to ferry in Puntarenas. take 75minute amazing ferry ride where you can see turtle's, dolphins, manarays, to the Nicoya peninsula, continue driving approximately 75 minutes to Santa Teresa, and the Emerald Abode. the Emerald Abode is a private home built for 2 guests. it sits alone on the hill, and my house sits to the north and below, giving total privacy to my guests. this house is in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica. Newly Constructed, finished April 2014. I only mention this so that i receive the type of guests that will appreciate what the Emerald Abode is, and not disappoint those that want a real NORTH AMERICAN HOME to rent... this is NOT your typical NA home by any stretch of the imagination... i designed the Emerald Abode with the goal to introduce to my guests to the wonder of Costa Rica, Tropical Living in an amazing Tropical Country, 8 degrees north of the Equator.. this is a very unique town and home, but it's not for everyone... those looking for a more polished home (all closed in, small windows, lots of air conditioning, no nature), may want to look for a different property..
