Trundle beds are available in Cavalerizzo, Chevalier and a daybed for two in the Great Room for an additional cost per night per person which also includes another set of sheets, a pillow and blankets, and a set of towels. The Great Room is a huge common area available to all guests where you can warm up a snack, make tea or coffee and socialize. It includes a huge leather couch and chair, TV, stereo, dining room table and chairs and large kitchen counter for prep. If you want to house an extra two people, we can set them up in the daybed for two. The kitchen facilities include: microwave, fridge, coffee maker, kettle, toaster, electric grill and crockpot. Attached to this is a deck and a patio with a fireplace, two bistro sets, umbrellas, and a lounge set where you can see the mountains. With advance notice, a barbecue may be rented for use on the patio for $15/day with fuel on the understanding you will clean the grill once you are done. There is a brick campfire beside the barn where you can sit out under the stars or make some smores or hotdogs (weiner sticks provided) over the flames barring a fireban by the County of Foothills. Brush is available for you to collect for burning, or you bring your own or purchase wood from me for $12 cash for a bag. Guest access Enter through the man door next to my garage door and go up the stairs to the second floor which is entirely available to you. I live downstairs on the main floor; therefore, the main floor and its courtyard are my private spaces. The area to the left with three ensuite bedrooms off one hallway is a quiet zone from 11pm to 8am. If you'd like to socialize, the Great Room across the hall on the right is available 24/7, but required after 11pm and throughout the night, when others would like to sleep. This is a passive solar house, using no gas, only electricity, 75-80% of which is produced with solar panels. To that end, we appreciate you keeping energy use to a minimum by turning OFF all lights and heat whenever they are not necessary. Please choose to EITHER open a window OR turn on the heat ... I feel silly having to put this in writing as it would appear to be so obvious, but I cannot afford to heat the great outdoors!!! Your sheets will be fluffed a few minutes then dried on the line outside. If you are lucky, you'll get a set that spent a night under the stars and absorbed the dew ... either way, you'll notice the difference because sunlight kills bacteria, viruses and fungi!! We choose to be considerate of our neighbours, both human and animal, by having only motion-detector and hooded outdoor lighting which adheres to the County's Dark Sky policy, particularly as the Rothney Observatory is only a short distance away.
