Two hours from DC and 15 minutes away from Bryce Resort! Escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and embark on a tranquil journey to our charming mountain retreat, nestled in the heart of the woods and near the Shenandoah Valley. The space Our inviting and bright 2 bed, 1 ½ bath chalet home & she-shed are situated on 6 acres in a wooded area. A 2 hour drive from the Washington, DC area takes you to a quaint escape ideal for relaxing, exploring the many hikes in the area, skiing, and, if you must, working remotely (though you will at least have your morning coffee in peace). Our chalet is a short 15-minute drive to Bryce Resort, known for year-round activities (ski/golf/lake/bike park) in Shenandoah! You are a short drive to Skyline Drive, Caverns, Civil War battlefields and numerous wineries. Enjoy neighboring antique shops, farmers markets, great barbeque and authentic Italian cuisine. A truly romantic getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life! Your mountain vacation will be filled with magical memories when you choose to stay in this spectacular mountain retreat. You and your guests will immediately feel at home when you step through the front door of the open concept living room with a fully stocked gourmet kitchen. Surrounded by nature, lounge on the sofa in the sun-filled living room while warming up by the heat of the gas fireplace. When you aren't busy gazing out the windows, flip on the TV, connect your phone to the Yamaha surround system and stream your favorite show, or enjoy your music. Immerse yourself in a book from our library, or explore our board game and puzzles collection. The Garden House (she-shed) stands as a delightful addition to the main Villa, offering a serene retreat within the lush garden. Equipped with electricity, water, and heating for chilly mornings, it provides the perfect space to read, unwind, and observe the frequent visits of birds. Nestled alongside a charming pond, it also features a cozy fireplace for your comfort. -- Extremely reliable Fiber Optic Internet is available -- Home uses a septic system -- no flushing of paper towel, feminine products, hair etc. Only flush natural waste. Guest access Guess have full access of the Villa and the Garden House with the exception of any closets/cabinets labeled as owner closet. Other things to note This is our personal home, we love to share it but we beg you to be respectful to both our space and neighbors so we can continue to share it! Our home is on a gravel road that is regularly plowed during the winter when there is snow on the ground. However, the hills in and around Basye can be very steep and hard/impossible to navigate after a heavy snowfall, freezing rain, or icing due to cold temperatures. If you are visiting us during the winter months, please consider driving a 4WD or AWD vehicle. We also recommend protecting your trip with comprehensive travel insurance.
