Description

Welcome to the studio! This is your retreat paradise. Here you will find peace, inspiration and a home. Wild city life is just a train ride away, with the stop right in front of the house. The apartment is continuously renovated, improved and further developed by us - like a work of art, so there may be small deviations from the photos. See if you can discover something new ;) The space The studio is a place of retreat, inspiration and peace. Here you can relax, meditate, sleep, dream, cuddle, read, create and just be. The entrance area/airlock: Put your shoes, luggage, jackets, etc. right here in front if you like before moving into the main room. There is space for your clothes in the mirror cabinet. Your sleeping place in the main room: 1. the nest. 160 x 200 cm (loft bed) 2. The futon. 160 x 200 cm (fold-out couch, as needed) 3. The cave. 140 x 90 cm (crib or cuddly place under the nest) In addition, your room offers a newly upholstered two-seater couch with a view of the countryside. A bulging bookshelf, magazines, musical instruments and board games are ready for you. If the muse grabs you, I will also gladly provide you with pens and paper. In the kitchen: Here you can enjoy a selection of vegetarian (also vegan on request) breakfast treats that we provide you upon arrival and cater to your own whims. The kitchen is equipped with 4 plates on the induction field, kettle, oven, toaster and dishwasher. At the tea bar, a variety of dried herbs await you for your personal blend. Bathroom: A bathtub is available for real relaxation. The bathroom is equipped with bath amenities, towels, toilet paper and soap. Not extravagant, but all the basics are available. The apartment is located in a house from 1938. It was modernized in the 1970s. That is why some details have become outdated, but we take care of everything with a lot of love and strive for cleanliness and order. We lived in the tiny apartment ourselves and enjoyed the cozy atmosphere here very much. This apartment used to be a bakery run by my grandparents. Since I like to bake myself, it is very likely that you will enjoy fresh yeast pastries during your stay ;) We recommend that you only spend time here with people you really like to have around you, as you inevitably get close in a confined space. We advise against staying here with people you don't want to have too close to you. Guest access You can reach the studio through the main entrance in the house. The apartment is situated on the first floor. First you get to the lock, a small room where you can put your luggage and which functions as a wardrobe. Then you cross my work area, which is open and leads into a short hallway. That's where your kingdom begins. Although you live in a part of my studio, it is in your own area and I will inform you in advance if I need to work during your stay. When I use my workspace, your living area, kitchen and bathroom are off-limits to me. That means you'll only see me on the way to the apartment door. But as I said, I'll talk to you beforehand about whether I'll be in the studio or not. Other things to note Parking is available right in front of the house. If there is nothing available, you can also park in the courtyard by arrangement. There is a cozy front garden with a bench where you can enjoy the fresh air and the view of the countryside in dry weather. The train line 1 is only a 2-minute walk from the studio and takes you directly to the heart of Cologne in a good half hour, or in about 25 minutes to Deutz/Messe/train station. The center of Bensberg is also very close and offers supermarkets, shops, restaurants, the castle and much more. In 10 minutes' walk you will reach Königsforst, where you can take endless walks and forest bathing. Another attraction of Bensberg is the Mediterana, a spa and wellness landscape known throughout Germany for its unique saunas and luxurious ambience. There are several schools in the immediate vicinity, so it is very busy in the morning and at noon in front of the house. In addition, the approach path from CGN leads over Bensberg, and now and then the planes can be heard very clearly. I share my studio with Miu, a cat. She is very gentle and lovable, yet I will not leave her in your room or alone in the studio during your stay. However, cat hair cannot be completely avoided in your living area. A lint brush is always at the ready!
