Description

The space Rivercroft is a lovely stone cottage which is deceptively spacious. It is set down a residential lane in the heart of the thriving estuary village of Llangwm. You will appreciate how close you are to this beautiful waterway, with views from the garden and first floor rooms. Beautifully furnished throughout, it is a real ‘home from home’ with practical slate floors on the ground floor. Step into the large porch, which is ideal for boots and walking gear, this leads through into the open plan living space. The dining/kitchen area runs across the back of the house, a light and airy space, with sliding doors opening to the paved terrace and rear lawned garden. The cottage-style fitted kitchen is well equipped for preparing family meals to be enjoyed round the farmhouse dining table where you can sit and enjoy the view over the pretty garden. An arch leads through to the spacious welcoming sitting room with a wood burning stove and comfortable sofas, all in rich warm tones, which is a perfect spot to cosy up away from winter chills. Stairs lead from here to a second galleried sitting room, relax and soak up the super views towards the estuary and over the water. There are 3 light bedrooms, 2 with views towards the water and the master bedroom has a small ensuite shower room. Dine alfresco on a summer’s evening in the rear enclosed garden, which offers space for children to play. The area abounds in footpaths and bridleways where keen walkers will delight in exploring this wonderful secret waterway, bird and wildlife will simply amaze. Alternatively, keen paddle-borders and kayakers or those who just enjoy messing around on the water can enjoy a completely different perspective of this stunning area. There is even a nearby slipway for launching boats. There are a number of villages nestled along its banks, often with popular pubs for refreshments.  Conveniently located, there is a village pub in Llangwm, within walking distance, as well as a small shop. The riverside market town of Haverfordwest is only a 10 minute drive away and offers a range of facilities, while there are a host of beautiful beaches within a short drive. Head west to Broad Haven and Little Haven, or onto the Dale Peninsula. Alternatively, cross over the estuary, heading to the medieval town of Pembroke, which is the birthplace of Henry VI, with its majestic castle and wonderful mill pond. Head onto Broad Haven South, Barafundle to enjoy a walk round the Lily Ponds to Bosherston. A visit to Freshwater West is a must, which was the setting for the blockbuster movie, Harry Potter and Robin Hood. From there, explore the Angle Pensinsula. There really is something for everyone and plenty to fill your days. Rivercroft is perfect holiday cottage, ideal for exploring all that south Pembrokeshire has to offer, whatever the season.
