Welcome to our lakeside getaway! Named after a tree that towers above our beloved home, the Poplar House is the perfect cocktail. You get a stunning view, but an easy walk to the water. A clean, modern home that still feels as cozy as a cottage. Bright, open rooms & covered porches all focus your attention on the lake. Off the back porch, there is a short staircase (just over 30 steps) to our dock. In any season, The Poplar House is your perfect getaway! Our dock is heaven on the lake... super-sized for the perfect hang under the summer sun, or relax with a book under the roof during a southern rain. We are centrally located directly off of the main channel for easy access to all areas of the lake. The entrance to the home is on the upper / ground level (from driveway). On this level you will find the kitchen, living room, full bathroom and a bedroom (king bed). This does feel like the master bedroom, although the bathroom has double access & is shared with the main space. On the lower level you will find a queen bed, bunk room with three twin beds (one is a trundle), as well as another master bedroom with a king bed connected to a full bathroom. Please note the queen bed is in an "open room" at the bottom of the stairs. The guests staying in the queen / bunk areas will need to access a bathroom either through the downstairs master or at the top of the stairs. The steps down to the dock are accessed from the lower level deck. Our boat & lift are not for guest use, sorry! Our home is in a friendly, small development of seven modern lakefront homes with great neighbors! If you plan on renting a boat, we are a 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk to Squirrels Boat Rentals at Rock Creek Marina. Easy access from 1-65 from all areas!
