Nestled in the Auvergne Volcanoes Park, on the slopes of the Doire Valley at an altitude of 850 m facing south, this spacious 85 m2 vacation rental located in a small hamlet of about ten houses will generously welcome nature lovers. Let yourself be lulled by the song of the birds, the rustling of the river and waterfalls, and the crystalline sound of the bells of the Sallers cows grazing quietly in the summer pastures in front of the house. The space Completely restored in 2024, the Félicie house, located in the former stables of the 1849 manor house next door, offers stunning views of the valley and surrounding countryside from its commanding position. The Maison Félicie is then bordered, along a garden, by three small buildings typical of an Auvergne house, namely an old smokehouse, a shed and finally a bread oven that is rekindled and gives rise to a bread festival in the hamlet once a year during the summer. A small waterfall on the property with benches and a stone table is available for your use, for your moments of reverie by the water. As the hamlet has voted to turn off the street lights in summer, you can also admire the night sky without any light pollution. If you are afraid of pollinator ants, fauna and flora in general and prefer to spend your vacation in the middle of the crowd, we are sorry but this place is really not for you! Description of the house: On the ground floor: - Large 30 m2 kitchen dining room with bay window overlooking the mountains, 4-seater round table, fireplace and sofa. The kitchen overlooks a terrace with a table and 4 chairs for outdoor dining. - Small bathroom with toilet and washing machine. - Back kitchen with water heater and storage. On the 1st floor: - Large 20 m2 bedroom with a 160 cm double bed, new Emma bedding, wardrobe, dresser and desk. - Bathroom with shower and toilet On the 2nd floor - Located in the attic, this large room includes a reading area, with sofa, bookcase and large screen TV, and a work area with desk and storage equipped with a high-speed fiber internet connection. Around the house 3 km away is the village of Tournemire, ranked among the most beautiful villages in France, over which the Château d'Anjony, a building with four round towers from the 12th century, watches, but you will also find a gourmet restaurant. Every Wednesday of the summer, a friendly country market with music concert and catering is held in Tournemire. Saint Cernin is 8 km from the cottage and you will find all the local shops, bakery, butcher shop (The famous Maison Dupont and its local products!), supermarket, bank, pharmacy and doctor's office. Aurillac, the prefecture of Cantal is 24 km away, which hosts a famous street theater festival in August. Important - Rental exclusively by the week from June and from Saturday to Saturday until mid-September. Then rental for a minimum of 6 days. - The Gite can only be rented for two adults. We do not allow children over 8 months old as the outdoor space can be dangerous. On request we can provide a wooden bed and high chair. - The house has 1m wide walls and a slate roof, the phone signal does not pass inside. You will then need to set up your phone on Wi-Fi Calls, or not… 4G is available outside. - The land is not fenced for our animal friends.
