Great for couples get away or family trip. Short drive to boat tours at Rockport or Gananoque. Often used as a pleasant stopover on your way across Ontario. We are on the St Lawrence River and the amazing 1000 Islands Parkway next to a forest and rolling hills. Enjoy peace and quiet and firepit and BBQ outdoor dining in your own private area. Located only 4km from Gananoque restaurants, Starbucks, McDonalds, and Tim Hortons. On walking/ bike trails to 1000 Islands National Park and rock beach. The space The space is a private apartment with a private entrance. There are 4 rooms: kitchen, main room with queen bed, couch, big comfy chairs, and a wall mounted t.v. with internet provided through google chromecast. A smaller bedroom with a queen size bed and locking door for privacy is at the back. There is a bathroom with shower, sink, and toilet. The property is 2 acres surrounded by natural spaces including rolling grassland and forest, and a large pond. Guests have there own bbq and picnic table area to enjoy outdoor dining with views of the St Lawrence River. There are always many birds singing and flying around. At the bottom of the property (it's on a hill) is the 1000 Islands Parkway which runs along the St Lawrence River. There is a bike/ walking path that stretches about 30 km from Gananoque to Brockville with lots of beaches, fishing areas and parks along it. Great for walking or biking with children or dogs. Guest access Guests have their own private living/dining/sleeping space a large area outside for cooking and eating and are welcome to walk around the 2 acres with ponds and gardens. Other things to note This is a basement apartment, the ceilings are just under 8 feet high, but there is a small area in the kitchen (visible in the pictures) where the furnace ducts and a plumbing pipe are below the ceiling. Here the head clearance is approximately 6 feet 2 inches. We have a dog (Australian Shepherd) and we usually let her out to bark 2-3 times a night. She barks for a couple minutes and then comes back in. She will bark at strangers, but she is not a threat. If you are afraid of dogs or don't like dogs, this property is probably not a great choice for you because it is likely that there will be at least some minor interaction. There is a flight of stairs to reach the apartment. It is lit for your safety.
