The cities of Nuremberg and Erlangen are just as easily accessible as recreational activities in Franconian Switzerland and Hersbruck Switzerland. and/or the story of a heated non-residential building: Once upon a time ... ... a massive outbuilding that stood by a stream and had been vacant for years because there was no idea or plan for how to use it. And then it happened; it all began in early 2022: Trenches were dug across the property, the floor of the building was excavated to a depth of several meters using excavators, utility lines were laid, and floors and ceilings were poured. A stairwell was built almost entirely inside the building; some windows were bricked up, while others were cut out or enlarged. The many new interior walls eventually gave rise to 7 bright apartments. Light-colored tiles and a pop of color, wood-look flooring, one double bed in each apartment and 2x also 2.5 sofas, and 7 fully equipped kitchens later, the project was finally completed in September 2023. For structural reasons, a large number of steel beams were necessary. In addition, there are the wooden trusses that originally supported the roof—and still do, at least in part. We were able to integrate both harmoniously into the apartments, turning this necessity into stylish design elements. In some places, the steel beams run through the kitchen countertop, or the wooden trusses run through the dining table. We are very pleased that this building from the 1950s has been brought back to life. If you’re interested, you can find before-and-after photos of the renovation in the stairwell or on Instagram/Facebook. Check-in is from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00, and check-out is from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
