Henge Hideaway
Description
A beautiful Scandi inspired contemporary shepherd's hut with ensuite bathroom, kitchenette and views of the historic Thornborough Henges and the Yorkshire Dales beyond! Enjoy the idyllic views from the private terrace, in the evenings keep cosy while gazing at the night skies! Nearby villages have pubs and a village shop and the pretty market towns of Masham, Thirsk, Ripon and Bedale are a short drive away. With the A1 3 miles away, we’re perfectly located for exploring the Yorkshire Dales! The space The Hideaway is set in its own orchard with a private terrace for you to enjoy a glass of something cold as the sun goes down, or to sit and have a cuppa while relaxing in the surrounding countryside. There is a comfortable king size bed, with extra blankets and hot water bottles for cooler nights (although there is a small radiator) while the ensuite bathroom is a wet room with a shower, with cosy towels provided. The kitchenette is well equipped with with a small fridge, microwave, induction hob, toaster and tea and coffee making facilities. BBQ equipment is also provided. If you're not out and about exploring the local countryside, then enjoy the selection of boardgames or books. Outside, our festoon lit terrace features a dining area with table, chairs and BBQ, while the chillout area has seating around the firepit for you to enjoy toasting marshmallows while star gazing!. We provide a complimentary basket of logs and firelighters, more can be purchased on arrival. If you would like charcoal provided, again we can organise this. There are 4 steps up into the Hideaway, so it's not readily accessible for all. Guest access The Hideaway is set in it's own fully fenced in orchard, parking is just next to the gate and is private. The Hideaway is accessed by coming up our drive, into the yard, then up the track at the side of the garden, through the next yard and into the parking area. Other things to note Although we’re a short drive from the A1, we are rural and you should be aware that some mobile phone providers don’t get signal in the village - O2 and EE do, but not sure about others. While there is some 4/5G coverage, it’s variable, meaning you can usually send and receive messages & emails but wouldn’t rely on it for anything else. We like to think of it as a digital detox! As this is a glamping pod rather than a conventional building, it can feel cooler in colder weather. As well as the radiator, there is a heated towel rail in the bathroom, a boiler for hot water and we provide extra bedding and hot water bottles to keep guests comfortable.
