Bampton Oxfordshire Rustic And Charming

Charming, rustic, converted barn on a beautiful, country lane, 10 mins walk to village. Accommodation comprises one main large room with living area, sofa, kettle, double bed and bathroom. It’s really important to know that it is a little barn and is truly rustic, not at all like a hotel. It’s best used as a base for exploring or attending an event. The space Located in the grounds of a lovely Oxfordshire 16th Century Old Farmhouse this self contained studio with bathroom is a lovely rustic escape. With a lovely en-suite bathroom we believe we have created a charming space. In the grounds also is a large very beautiful (we think!) garden with two ponds which are lovely but children must be supervised at all times because of this and the swimming pool. We occasionally have a dog too who stays in the main house with us and is free in the gardens during the day. Lovely dog - but we thought you should know. Other dogs (and cats) are allowed, of course, but should be on a lead outside as there are often young children about who will not be used to your dog. You need to be aware too that we are quite isolated so you would ideally need a car unless you are keen on walking. Guest access Private access to the self contained studio / barn. If we are available we can pick you up from Bampton if you are coming by bus. Park in the main house drive and the studio is in the farmyard, which is after a small yard attached to the house. There is a large Moroccan pot by the door and a small step. Bring a torch if you are arriving at night as it can be a bit dark. Have a lovely time. Other things to note Please be aware that our place really is rustic. It is nothing like a hotel. We, and our guests, think it's very lovely though. It is a barn so if you don't like spiders beware - we do our best to make sure there are none but can't guarantee they won't sneak in. Additionally, there is WiFI but due to where we are it can be very patchy more particularly at busy times We are usually not available during your stay and are always unavailable after 5.00 pm. But you can contact us by telephone during the day and we'll do our very best to help. Please ask us if you are hoping to bring children. There is only one bed and we are not set up for children and can't guarantee their safety. We have an occasional guest dog who runs free around the grounds of our house. There are chickens/cockerels here and in other properties so you might want to bring earplugs if you get disturbed by farm type noise. We are in an isolated spot so unless you are a very keen walker you will need transport. It's about a twenty minute walk to the village. There is a very good pub, The Double Red Duke , to eat in in Clanfield nearby as well as three pubs in Bampton - one or two of which do simple pub food. There are also two cafes and a restaurant - the Fleur de Lis restaurant. People say the Morris Clown in the village is great fun. There are lots of other nice pubs within driving distance. Including ones with wonderful food. There is a smallish Coop in Bampton as well as a Post Office and lovely hair salon. You can park either in the farmyard itself or in the Farmhouse drive if there is space. The studio is in the farmyard and a large Moroccan pot is by the door. There are two small gates to go through - through a smaller yard - from the drive to the farmyard and it's advisable to make sure these are closed as they have a tendency to bang in the night if not closed which might disturb you. It's worth noting also that there are sometimes small children staying at the main house. Bring a torch if you remember as the farmyard can be very dark at night. Have a lovely time.
