Spacious 4-bed Villa, sleeps 8, 50m to beach cove

Enjoy an unspoilt stretch of the Spanish coast from our spacious four-bedroom, air-conditioned villa in El Calón. The beach cove is just 50 metres away, with a small local Spanish restaurant within walking distance. Shops, restaurants, and nearby sandy beaches are a short 10-minute drive. Aguilón Golf is 15 minutes away. Bright and comfortable, with private off-road parking, the villa is well looked after and prepared with care for each stay. The space The villa is a bright, airy, comfortable retreat where you can wake to the sounds of waves lapping on the shore, birds singing, and the toot of the bakery van (which delivers fresh bread and napolitanas more or less to your doorstep).  The ground floor features a large open-plan lounge and dining area and a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher and a washing machine. There is also a shady outdoor dining area with sea views. There are four bedrooms upstairs: three double bedrooms (two with balconies with sea views and seating) and a fourth bedroom with two single beds. The main bedroom has an en-suite shower room, and there are two other family bathrooms with showers (one on the ground floor and one on the first floor). Guest access Guests can access all areas of the house and garden and have a secure private space to park their cars. Other things to note El Calón is a secluded beachside village nestled between rugged hills and the clear waters of the Mediterranean. It's easily accessible - a 70-minute drive from Almería Airport, a 75-minute drive from Murcia Airport, a 130-minute drive from Alicante Airport and a 150-minute drive from Granada Airport. El Calón beach is 500 meters long. It's a mix of sand and small pebbles, with plenty of rocky areas to explore. It's popular for snorkelling, paddle-boarding, kayaking, fishing, swimming... or just floating in the clear blue waters. Some locals even use the rock pools like nature's hot tubs - a place to sit, chat, sip a drink, and enjoy the sights and sounds of the sea. The local beach bar (about a hundred flip-flop paces from the villa) serves chilled wines, refreshing beers, traditional Spanish dishes, and fresh seafood. There are several bays nearby to walk to and explore, but a car is a must - unless you're a super-keen hiker or cyclist. A 10-minute drive will lead you to some of the finest beaches in the region, such as San Juan de los Terreros, with long golden sands, a range of outdoor and dining experiences, and all kinds of shops and supermarkets. You can hire bikes and take paddle-boarding lessons there too, or simply enjoy a more lively experience to contrast with the quieter times at El Calón. The 'best desert golf course in Europe' - the spectacular Aguilón Golf Course - is just a 15-minute drive from the villa. Enjoy the challenge of the numerous natural ravines that weave through the 18-hole course, set against a dramatic mountain backdrop. There are more than 100 bunkers and 6 lakes too, and magnificent views in every direction. The coast roads are popular with cyclists. You can follow many routes, but the roads are winding and hilly, so you need to be fit. The rocky landscape is also great for hikers and nature lovers. There are hills to explore, distinctive flora and fauna, and numerous beautiful little coves, such as nearby Cala Cristal. The wildlife reserves here are loved by locals and tourists alike.
