Description
The retreat offers a calming view of the lake. There is wifi, a full kitchen, queen bed, living room area, dining table, full bath, and a large picture window looking out on the lake. The large kitchen table doubles as a workspace with ergonomic chair. I can bring in a folding twin bed on request. A large deck offers views and dining options in the summer. Northern lights can be seen in the winter from the large picture window. The space This is a spacious studio with living room area, dinning room area, and bedroom sections and a separate bathroom - perfect for two people. The location of the cabin is only 15 minutes outside downtown Wasilla in a neighborhood off of the Parks Highway heading towards Willow/Talkeetna/Denali. In town there are stores that provide everything you will need on your retreat. The rental includes the entire upstairs including a large deck with patio furniture and access to the dock and lake. The owner has space on the lower level. This retreat stay works as a quick get away from Anchorage and the responsibilities of your usual life, a destination vacation or a relaxing place to stay for a few days on your larger Alaskan tour. It is only a little over an hour from the Ted Stevens International Airport and would be a great place to stay after you land and work your way up to Denali. I would be happy to discuss the adventures you can have in the area and recommended restaurants. Some of these adventures include: Getting out on the lake on all seasons, except for “break-up” usually in April. 35 minutes from Hatcher Pass (Old mine to explore, hiking, mountain biking and sledding, and cross country skiing) 30 minutes from Nancy Lake in Willow (water sports, hiking, mountain biking cross country skiing, dog mushing) 20 minutes from Kin Win Trailhead and Matanuska Lake (skating, skiing, hiking mountain biking) The lake area in front of the cottage has a natural spring that draws birds all year round. It is fun to use the binoculars and try to identify all the different species. Guest access There is a private entrance for the upstairs unit which has a wooden walkway leading to the porch which has two steps. Other things to note The driveway can accommodate multiple cars and has a plug in cord for winter use.
