Secluded Bolthole

Explore the English countryside at this unique and tranquil getaway. Walking distance from Charleston Farmhouse and Berwick (Sussex) mainline railway station across 3 fields (direct trains from London & Brighton). With many footpaths across the Southdowns stop for tea or pub breaks at Charleston Farmhouse, Firle Place, & Alfriston. Opera at Glyndebourne is 12 mins drive, or visit Lewes & its local shops & castle. For city trips Brighton & Eastbourne are a 20 minute drive or train journey away. The space A self contained flat up a flight of steps with kitchenette, microwave, fridge and sink & electric plug in 2 plate hob, (no oven) bathroom with bath & shower hose (no standing shower) & toilet, and main room with standard double bed, 2 seater sofa and dining table for 2 / work desk. The owners house is adjacent but is a separate building, and has a shared parking area with the air BnB Annexe. There is a separate garden space for the owners and their dog. The Airbnb guests can use a different garden area away from the owners house but is not an enclosed space. There is a public footpath running in-between the house and air BnB annexe used by local dog walkers and ramblers. Other things to note We sometimes need to withhold the annexe advanced availability for family and friends, or if I am working away, so unable to host. This means the calendar may look booked up a month or 2 in the future, but we might free up space closer to the time. So please do check again for last minute availability. We include a welcome pack of A half / small loaf of bread Eggs from our own hens (if they are laying well, so not a guaranteed, but a bonus!) A couple of portions of butter A couple of portions of jam A jar of oats Coffee Tea A jug of cow's milk 1 bottle of mineral water Our water supply is not from the mains, but from our own borehole which we test once a year and drink from ourselves. It has a lovely chemical free taste. We will leave 1 bottle of shop bought drinking water for any guests who prefer. For guest arriving on foot from Berwick train station. During the winter months or if the weather has been extremely wet, bring wellies as there are some deep puddles.
