Description

Come take a break from reality and just unwind at The Simply Springs House! Enjoy watching horse and buggies pass by to feel like you’ve taken a step back in time. The pace is a little slower (that’s how we like it) and the fresh country air is in abundance. Located just 3 miles off of I-68 this house has everything needed for resting and relaxing. OR if you are wanting some adventure there is hiking, biking, swimming, skiing, kayaking, natural water slides and much more all within 30 miles. The space The Simply Springs House is a 4 bedroom farmhouse style home that was built in 1901. The past and the present collide to create a unique country feel throughout the home. Put your feet up and relax in the spacious living room. Enjoy a book, a puzzle, or even a board game from The Simply Springs House Collection. High-speed internet and Roku TV are provided at this house. The kitchen has a variety of cookware and utensils for making breakfast, lunch, or dinner for family and friends (just bring the food!). This home has 4 bedrooms. The Days Gone By Room has a queen size bed. The Round Up Room has a full bed. The Wildflowers Room has a full bed. The Hundred Acre Woods Room has two twin size beds. Enjoy a refreshing rinse in the stand up shower on the second floor or soak your cares away in the antique claw foot bathtub on the main level. Enjoy your morning cup of coffee or tea on the front porch swing. Take a stroll through the backyard and feel free to explore the gardens and sample fresh fruits and vegetables when in season. A fire pit and outdoor furniture are for guests to use also. (Note: Outdoor items are seasonal and provided weather permitting.) Guest access Feel free to explore the backyard and the seasonal gardens. Relax around the fire pit. (Note: Lawn furniture is seasonal and set up weather permitting.) Our 1 acre homestead is home to several chickens and three dogs. The lower part of the yard that is roped off has been set aside for the dogs. Our dogs are normally very friendly because they know us. However, we cannot guarantee how they will act with others. So we ask that guests refrain from entering the roped off area. Mia is a Vizsla Lab who isn’t yet a year old. She is learning to stay DOWN. She is very energetic and loves to run. Oakley is a Miniature Pinscher who loves to jump. He too has a lot of energy and can often be seen running circles around his little box home. Baxter is the oldest one of our dogs. He is a Beagle Mix. He loves to bathe in the sun and just take it easy during the day. The chickens that live on our property lay excellent eggs and are generous at fertilizing our garden. Please observe and admire them from a distance. There are two coops and these serve as their homes. Please respect their space and leave the doors to the pens closed at all times. One rooster lives amongst the hens and sometimes he has lots to say. Cock-a-doo-a-dooing is a favorite pastime and hobby for him. Other things to note Hundreds of years ago, Amish and Mennonite families settled in Pennsylvania. Today, tight knit communities are in abundance in this area. Their history and their stories are quite fascinating! These ones are our neighbors, our friends, and like family. We ask that you please be respectful of their culture, their views, and their religious beliefs. There are some misconceptions about the plain community, as is common amongst people who stand out as different. The best way to learn about these beautiful people, their deeply engrained culture, and their unique ways is by getting to know them. A smile, a simple greeting, and a genuine interest in others is all that is needed to strike up a friendly conversation. Why not try it?! You never know where it might lead.
