Dating back to 14th Century, Spring Cottage is a restored stone and thatched house sitting in its own garden in the tranquil, enchanting village of Teffont Magna. Including the adjoining Studio, the property has 5 double bedrooms, three reception rooms and a large modern kitchen. Teffont is a short drive to Stonehenge, Chalke Valley History Festival, Stourhead, Longleat Old Wardour Castle and many other historic sites. Tisbury, with a good range of shops and a station is just 5 miles away. The space Spring Cottage is a Grade 2 listed building in the heart of the Nader Valley in the Cranbourne Chase AONB area of Wiltshire midway between the historic towns of Salisbury and Shaftesbury. The house sits on a quiet lane with a wraparound garden. The building was originally built as a medieval hall house with a single story open to the thatched roof and in the 17th century an intermediate floor was added. As a result, some ceilings and doorways are low in much of the property which provides a characterful, charming home. In total there are 5 double bedrooms, two of which have king sized beds and the remaining three bedrooms have standard double beds. The house has been extended in recent years to provide a modern kitchen and contemporary self contained annexe linked to the house. Two of the receptions rooms have large inglenook fireplaces; one for log fires and the other with a woodburner style gas stove. In total there are two bathrooms, one en-suite shower room and a total of 5 lavatories. The property has Wi-Fi throughout and as cellphone reception is poor in the village we have EE network boosters. This is a quirky old house which is perhaps not to everyone’s taste. It is our home and so there are owner’s possessions in the house. Guest access Guests have access to the entire house and garden with the exception of the garden shed and a small number of locked cupboards inside. Other things to note We do not offer Spring Cottage for parties, hen or stag parties. Dogs are allowed by prior agreement and we ask owners not to have dogs on beds or upholstery. We also request that dogs are not left alone in the house. There will be an additional cleaning fee if you bring pets.
