Makua offers eight (8) spacious chalet-style rooms, housed within two thatched, red-clay-brick blocks of four chalets each. Each room is en-suite with both a shower and bathtub, furnished with king-sized beds (convertible into twin beds), rustic headboards set against polished brick walls, and finished with clean white linen and stylish curtains. Some chalets feature closed white ceilings for a refined tone, while others retain open thatch interiors for a stronger bush-lodge feel. Our signature thatched double-storey family unit is tailored for groups and families. It features three en-suite bedrooms, with two located upstairs and one downstairs. Each bedroom is furnished with queen-sized wooden beds, portable wardrobes, blanket boxes, study desks, luggage racks, and tall framed mirrors that reflect rustic elegance. The ground floor includes a cozy lounge with a fully fitted kitchenette and a stylish staircase leading to the upper level. Bathrooms are fitted with both toilets and bathtubs, making the unit a private, fully functional retreat. The heart of Makua’s social experience is our restaurant and bar, with capacity to serve over 200 guests at once. Designed with a bush-lodge feel but equipped for large-scale catering, it is well-suited for corporate functions, weddings, retreats, and social celebrations. Our culinary offerings emphasize freshness, farm-to-fork produce, and Botswana-inspired recipes, complemented by a wide selection of beverages. For corporate and institutional partners, Makua provides a 10-pax meeting room and a larger conference space accommodating up to 25 participants. Both venues are equipped for professional gatherings while retaining Makua’s natural tranquillity, making them ideal for board meetings, training workshops, and intimate strategy sessions. Makua features over one (1) hectare of manicured lawns set within big indigenous tree canopies, providing versatile open-air venues for both social and corporate events. With capacity for more than 300 guests, the lawns are perfect for festivals, large corporate gatherings, outdoor dining, and cultural showcases. The lawns seamlessly integrate with the bush surroundings, ensuring every event feels private, natural, and memorable. A large outdoor swimming pool offers leisure guests and groups a refreshing retreat. Framed by bush scenery and open skies, the pool doubles as a social focal point for weekend leisure, wellness retreats, or relaxation after workshops and events. For overland travellers and camping enthusiasts, Makua offers dedicated camping areas with ablution facilities, with capacity for up to 50 campers at once. This facility allows budget-conscious and adventure-focused travellers to skip the city hotels, set up their own gear, and stay aligned with their camping.
