The local bars, restaurants, and shops are within 650m walking distance from your place of stay. Hiking and cycling trails are on your doorstep. Melville has always attracted students and academics and has, for many years, been the favoured neighbourhood for the city's writers, artists, performers and poets. Established in 1896 on the edge of the rocky Melville Koppies, this once sleepy and old-fashioned suburb is a colourful neighbourhood with a friendly atmosphere. We have spa treatments as an additional service offering. For peace of mind, we have street CCTV camera's outside of the property, with electrified fencing, along with providing our guests with a panic button in case of emergencies. There is secure parking available for one car, that is suitable for small to medium size vehicles, and there is street parking also available outside of the property. The house is also equipped with a portable gas stove and rechargeable lights for loadshedding. There are electric blankets in both bedrooms, along with cooling fans. There is a heater in the unit as well. Upon request, we have massage therapists available that come and pamper you in the comfort of your home at an additional fee. Smart TV with Netflix and Prime subscriptions already loaded for your tv viewing pleasure. There are 2 dedicated workstations available. As a welcoming gesture, we provide a braai/BBQ kit to get your first cosy night by the fire going and, if you have a special occasion, we can provide rose petals, bubbly etc. Just reach out and we will create the magic! There is a guidebook available to assist you in making the most of your stay in the area and other areas in the City of Gold. Our guidebook covers activities and recommendations on where to explore, such as dancing/dinner; dining experiences; shopping; sight seeing; hiking; walking; picnics; markets; familly adventures and more. Other things to note Due to having a washing machine in the home, guests can do their laundry. For long term stays we do offer changing of the linen, and also provide a domestic service at an additional fee of R400. We offer onsite spa treatments in the comfort of your home at an additional fee as well. Film shoots, parties and events are welcome. We ask that our guests be mindful of water and electricity usage, along with ensuring that the front gate remains closed.
