We recently completed the construction of a custom Jacuzzi on the second floor terrace. The jacuzzi is covered under a large gazebo with movie set views!!! While using this beautifully appointed water feature, you can take full advantage of the adjacent areas. Enjoy outdoor meals in the exteriors dinning area, or relax under the stars in the adjacent exterior living room space, which includes the comfortable outdoor furniture, including two lazy hammocks and several lounge chairs!!! Guest access Our home has been thoughtfully planned and built to provide our guests with a spacious, gracious and comfortable retreat environment. The colorful, sophisticated décor blends a modern and rustic mix of architectural designs with elements of La Antigua’s colonial past. Casita Las Mandarinas is part of our larger multi-dwelling retreat; all joined together by a group of shared gardens and additional, complementary, landscape features. However, while the gardens, fountains and decks are common features, they are also, all, part a larger cohesive space, which tastefully combines the need for privacy with a bigger space design concept! There is a well-appointed indoor living & dining room space, a small but fully equipped modular kitchen, and an adjacent outdoor patio. The house has two spacious light-filled Bed rooms. The 1st of these has windows views of the garden grounds. The 2nd bed room has neighborhood street views. Additionally, the house boasts a second story deck with amazing views of Volcán de Agua on one side, as well as, two adjacent coffee farms and wooded hills, on the other side. Plus, we now offer you a NEWLY built Jacuzzi / gazebo exterior living and entertaining space atop our deck, which is sure to satisfy the most discerning guests. Don’t believe us? To top it off, this private community offers wide, cobble stone streets (a great exercise space option), lovingly maintain gardens and fountain areas, as well as the peace and safety of a 24/7 security gate - all for the enjoyment of owners and their guests! “Casita Las Mandarinas” is centrally and conveniently located just outside the city limits - just 5 minutes away by car, or, about 7 minutes by chicken bus (which stops about every 10 minutes, - just outside our community). We are also located next to four small “Aldeas” (Villages), each of which has its own small Central Park and church - All full of wonderful and fun surprises. We encourage our guests to venture out and to explore the many points of interest nearby, some just minutes from the property, none more than a few miles away. Obviously, if La Antigua is your main point of interest; this amazing little city boasts a truly amazing blend of entertainment possibilities. Ranging from many tasteful dinning options to sightseeing of all kinds. From adventure sports and activities to shopping and many other cultural events and festivals! Not only are many of the dinning and cultural locations and events options truly world class; but the City itself was designated by UNESCO as a “World Heritage Site” in 1978. This is all because of La Antigua’s, Guatemala is, truly, an amazing destination; offering a Wonderful combination of culture, tradition and history - all nestled within the spectacular natural environment of the Ponchoy valley and its three surrounding volcanoes!!! However, if you find that La Antigua (proper) is not enough for your “itching traveling boots”..... Enjoy taking a variety of day trips: to the mountain coffee farms, to several near by volcanes; to the modern city of Guatemala (about one hour away) for shopping and additional entertainment, Biking tours, visits to near-by villages (full of native Mayan culture and people) . Additional adventures include many potential full day adventures, such as, visiting lake Atitlan, the spectacular mountain town of Chichicastenango, Huegutenango and the provinces of Alta y Vaja Verapas..... and even El Peten, Tikal, and lake Izabal. For those more adventurous, the beach areas of Monterico, or even the Beautiful beaches of El Salvador (a 5 hour bus, or, car ride) in the Pacific Ocean, May be an option worth contemplating and combining with your trip to La Antigua.
